First Ever Iwarian Squad Tournament
Hazama was walking the streets of Iwagakure when he he saw flyers up for two tournaments to be held within a couple of months from each other. The first tournament was a village tournament to be held inside of Iwagakure for Iwarian member's only. It would consist of 6 3 man squads that would go up against against each other. Upon signing up, Yūki was found to be paired up with Mathias
and Lucifer, with Mathias as the Captain.
Squad Tournament Preliminary Round
Mathias decided to call the three of them The Stalkers
. Their first matchup was to be against Mugen and Friends, who's squad consisted of -Mugen-
as the Squad leader and Rain of Hell (ROH) and Coyote as his teammates. In a gruesome battle, Coyote took a blow extra early in the match, taking him out of the fight. Rain of Hell, in a desperate move, sacrificed the well being of his own leader and summon Gamabunta to try to gain the victory, however Mathias and Oraan countered the move successfully, while Lucifer delivered the final blow to Rain of Hell. With all three members out of the fight, The Stalkers
were declared victorious, and moved on to the Semi Finals.
Squad Tournament Semi Finals
The Stalkers rested up for a day and a half in order to head to their Round Two match. When they got to the battlefield, Yūki could see Nagato, leader of the Liquid Swordz and Prof. Sarutobi in the distance. They lost their third man in the first round, and had not recovered enough to join them in Round Two.
Squad Tournament Final Round
After defeating the Liquid Swordz, The Stalkers went to take on Team Jinbelicious. The final battle was rather short lived however. The Stalkers, tired of coming away with narrow victories, gave the battle everything they had and came away with success. Mathias, Hazama, and Lucifer were so worn out after the Final round, that they did not see Nexus in the form of a large snake approach them. He entered silently as the team was drained and proceeded to bite each in a different place. Screaming in agony, the serpent slithered away in the night, leaving the three to writhe around in extreme agony. Team Jinbeilicious themselves were currently unconscious and would be of no help to the three. Toku arrived moments later with Jinbei to take the team back to their team of Mednin. Having received some sort of medicine from Rufus, Hazama stopped screaming just long enough to hear Leaf approaching. She examined their three separate wounds and stared up at Toku with finality in her voice. "The Mark of the Accursed Ones."
After the Squad Tournament events, Toku declared a resting period for all fighters. This was mostly due in part to Hazama, Mathias, and Lucifer all being bitten by Nexus. Mathias and Lucifer would get released for the hospital before Hazama. His bite being on his face instead of his neck like the others, made for a difficult recovery.
He had frequent visits to his room made by the entire village, but none more than Mathias and Lucifer. With Yūki unable to talk to them much due to pain, they would all just sit there in silence, reflecting on their victory in the tournament, and then the fate they all shared equally afterwards, though he suffered more than his brothers, he knew without a doubt they felt his pain as well.
Hazama took two months before he was allowed to talk again for fear of pain beyond imagination. Toku came to see him this day singing RocknRolla songs on his way to the room. Toku pushed up his glasses that were hanging on his face, a sign that he was permitted to talk. The only word that came to mind was "Training"
. Everyone else, even Mathias and Lucifer, had undergone training while he laid rest in the hospital. Toku knowing Yūki's ambition patted him on the shoulder, giving permission to be released. Hazama instantly disappeared in a wisp of smoke in the shape of a snake. Toku, intrigued by this, as the had never seen Hazma do that before, noted it as curious and needing of investigation, Toku set out to talk to Jinbei, and Mugen to see if they happened to have experienced anything of the like. They would discuss this in length, and decided to watch over Hazama in the upcoming tournament.
Training hard, Hazma spent most of his time honing his skills as well as increasing his raw speed, strength, and overall Stone Will.
1v1 Tournament Preliminary Round
Hazama walked past a mirror and noted that over the place where Nexus had bit his was now a mark. He wasn't able to hide it like Mathias and Lucifer and he refused to. He would bear the mark proudly, taking it to mean that Nexus deemed him worthy.
He stepped onto the battlefield to face his opponent; Zero Kelvin. The two had gone through many ups and downs together. He had a feeling that this would not be solved without bickering. And much to his discomfort, he was right. After a long debate, Hazama however, was declared the victor and would move on to the next round.
1v1 Tournament Round 2
His next opponent was Howard. It was night time with the moon shining brightly over the field as it snowed. The two had a good fight that ended up as a decision having to be made by Toku the Tsuchikage. Hazama was declared the victor through show of skill, though he had a sneaky suspicion that it was mostly due in part to being able to control his Cursed Mark. Upon exiting the battlefield and going back inside the dome where there was light, the crowd marveled at how Hazama could see in the pitched Black Darkness and still find Howard with pinpoint accuracy. Hazama took note that he thought that the moon was out and shining over the battlefield giving him the light needed. Apparently he could see as good in the dark as in the daytime, if not better.
1v1 Tournament Semi-Finals Double Elimination Part I
Hazama was up to face Mugen. As they stood to face each other, he could see that they both shared a look of worry upon their faces. Would this be the moment that he lost control and unleashed pure wrath? Being forced to face each other. Hazama's thoughts turned to Lucifer and Mathias as they had just lost their fights, and how he may have faired in his last fight.
The fight was intense. Mugen however was given the victory over Hazama. With this as his first loss, Hazama was at the point in the fight where if he obtained another, he would be out of the running for first and Second Place.
1v1 Tournament Semi-Finals Double Elimination Part II
Hazama had to face Kryptiic, who also lost in part one of the Semi-Finals. A rather short battle as the judges wanted to press on with the fight, Hazama was decided as the winner. He then suddenly collapsed out of nowhere.
1v1 Tournament Semi-Finals Double Elimination Part III
Hazama, having collapsed after his victory over Kryptiic, was taken to the Med ward to be looked after before he would advance. He was ordered by Toku to rest for the up for the week. They had postponed the tournament to give him the time I needed to rest and gain the Cursed Mark under control.
After recovering again, Hazama thought to himself that he was tired of going in and out of the hospital, he would not collapse again.
Next up on the list was Prof. Sarutobi. Their battle was short as well. Prof Sarutobi was disqualified early on in the fight for using an illegal technique. Hazama was dumbfounded. With this unearned victory, he had almost solidified that he would take second place in the tournament, Mugen, having already taken first. Prof. Sarutobi now needed to defeat Mantora, for if Mantora wins, then Hazama would have to face off against him for the second place victory. Something Hazama looked forward too, but would rather not have to go through.
Cursed Mark Seal of Heaven Second State
Having achieved the Second Cursed Mark State as a result of being pushed to the limit in both tournaments, Hazama noticed that he was no longer in the same frame of mind when he allowed it to overcome him. He kept his mind but everything seemed twisted and distorted whenever he spoke, as if he were a split personality. He constantly laughed hideously and mischieviously as he spoke. Hazama always appreciated the light of day and marveled at the beauty of things. He hated the night as it seemed to cast a blanket over everything. However whenever he entered CM1, his eyes saw everything as black and he marveled in its symbolism. This was the result of the Cursed Marked Seal fo Heaven. Appreciating the darkness in the world, both literally and figuratively, for while in this state, everything seemed darkened to Hazama.
Some additional things that Hazama noted whenever he transformed back into his normal state, other than a drain of chakra, was that he truly enjoyed being in that state. Something that troubled his mind. Hopefully he would soon be able to master himself and remain in control while in the First State. Another was a certain hunger that he had never felt before. A hunger to fill an emptiness inside of him. The training he needed would require being held and watched over by someone who was even stronger than him while in his CM1 state. Not knowing many who could, or even would assist him, Hazama often allowed by Jinbei; the new Tsuchikage after the tournament took place, to go off and leave the village on a person mission to find one who would train him and fill his emptiness.
Hazama, after achieving the Cursed Marked Seal of Heaven, went in search of fulfillment. He found it near the outskirts of Kumogakure. 3 ninja, Andy, Hellsbadass, and Goro Kaguya met and helped Hazama to control himself better while in the Cursed Marked Stage 1. During these controlld meetings, they deemed Hazama worthy of learning Void Release. Try as he might, Hazama could not use any of the techniques as he couldn't see it the Void chakra he was trying to make. Losing control of himself, Hazama transformed into CM1 and let go a burst of Void Release chakra, successfully making the void required to begin their training. Amazed, Goro, Hells, and Andy came to the conclusion that Hazama could only use the Void Chakra in his CM1 State. The extra chakra as well as the fact that he could then see what he was creating being the reason behind this. After having gained control of his CM1, Hazama was now able to use Void Release Techniques up to A ranked. His body could not handle anymore beyond that. Goro, Andy, and Hells figured that all Hazama needed was an extra push. They knew that there was a level beyond that of CM1, and that Hazama had actually reached the level before, but did not know how to achieve it on his own. Goro then challenged Hazama to a fight. Goro told Hazama that no matter what, he was not to activate his CM1 in the fight, and was to give it his all. Goro pushed him to his limits, drawing out the fight until Hazama felt like he had no more chakra left within him. That is when Hazama's CM began to take over. It spread all over his face and arms. Hazama's eyes turned pitch black. He could feel chakra pouring all throughout his body. This chakra felt evil and twisted, and yet very familiar to him, as if it belonged. This surge of chakra was completely different from when he entered CM1 state. Also, he could feel extra appendages growing from his spine, head, hips and arms. His strenth seemed to increase beyond that of anything he had ever felt before. Hazama flexed all the muscles in his body, he could feel them growing, stretching, tightening. His nails seemed to lengthen and curve into claws. Goro, Hells and Andy watched on in amazement as Hazama's body twisted and contorted into that of a slender yet incredibly strong and agile Bat. Hazama had initially thought that his body was twisting and contorting into that of a Hyena, fitting to him as it was one of the animals that he could summon. His Cursed Marked 2 state however, seemed to take in all the abilities that made Hazama who he was, and utilize them in the best possible way. A snake like tail protruded from his spine, giving him advanced balance and control during flight and gliding. To couple this, wing-like appendages seemed to have grown from his hips, which would enable moderate flight and gliding. These same wing-like appendages can be found on the hands of Hazama in this form, which seem to be connected to a long 3 foot thorned tentacle that protruded out of each arm. Hazama flexed each of his muscles and found that he could control them tentacles at will as well as the snake like tail that came down his back.
The four of them helped Hazama control the CM2 state until he could activate it on his own. In this state, Hazama was able to use S ranked and Forbidden ranked Void Release techniques without difficulty. Hazama, now in complete control of himself, decided to go back to Iwagakure; his hunger satisfied for now. Hazama would not rest until he was full.
Ye Olde Tournament
Having control over his Curse Mark, while traveling back to Iwagakure, Hazama passed by a sign in a small village. It was for a tournament. Having had success within the walls of Iwagakure, Hazama figured that he would give this tournament a try. Quickly signing up, Hazama figured that this would be a good way to test out his control of the Cursed Mark.
Hazama's first opponent was Korra of Amegakure. The fight however was short lived. Korra gave up without putting up too much of a fight, and vowed to face Hazama again when he was stronger. And Hazama advanced to round 2.
Hazama's second opponent was Jacob Moore of Sunagakure. This fight was much more interesting. It lasted for quite some time and took a lot of energy out of Hazama, as Jacob Moore was quite good. He pushed Hazama into almost turning into the Bat. Luckily Hazama figured out a way to toss two crystal like swords and stab Jacob Moore and ending the battle. Jacob did not die that night, however he was unable to continue the battle. His wounds were tended to and he simply required bed rest.
Hazama's third opponent was Yusuke of Konohagakure. Yusuke started off the fight using his Root element, however this would not be enough to stop Hazama, who came in with a game plan and rendered it useless. Using his Diethyl Ether element, Hazama figured that he would trap Yusuke under the ground. He almost succeeded once; however Yusuke found a small area of earth to come up above ground and escape being trapped by fire. Hazama continued to press Yusuke. He would not relent from his attack. He would keep pressing him into a corner until there was nowhere left to go.
Hazama then went on to face Serpent. Serpent who once proudly wore the Iwarian headband, Hazama noted that it had been replaced with one from Kumogakure. This enraged Hazama and brought him instantly into his sadistic nature; his Cursed Mark 1 stage on the brink of releasing. Hazama regained his composure, not allowing the Cursed Mark to take over. Hazama's game plan for his opponent however went out of the window. His only plan now was to win at all cost, CM2 activation or no. Reaching this conclusion with a smile piercing his lips but for a quick moment, Hazama took his right thumb, bit it, and traced the symbol of Iwagakure on his headband while uttering "This Is Iwa"
under his breath just enough so that Serpent could hear him before he began his attack. Hazama killed Serpent, and progressed to the next round.
The last and final round, Hazama's opponent was House; a very accomplished member of the Hyuga Clan. Hazama knew this would be no easy fight, he would have to win on strategy alone. Eventually, after much debate, Wesobi and Riku declared Hazama as the winner of the fight.
Luciano Manor Nightmare
After winning the Ye Olde Tournament, Hazama went to go rest in the Luciano Mansion. Despite his best intentions of sleeping peacefully, his dreams were plagued with nightmares. In this nightmare, the Luciano Manor was all but destroyed, the earth was extremely hot to the touch with bodies of his closest friends all around him. The only person around other than himself was his Primo Mathias. Looking around, their faces were exhausted, no time for grief as they were still looking for something. In front of them stood a large castle made of a dark colored earth lined with fire. Hazama knew the castle structure immediately, figuring that he and Primo had erected it trapping and killing multiple people inside it. They then walked over to the remnants of the Manor where Hazama proceeded to pick up a large piece of a broken mirror. He knew that he now stood in what used to be the living room. Taking a look in the mirror, Hazama did not immediately recognize himself. His hair was longer, pinned up in a pony tail in the back with two bangs hanging from its sides. This made him want to to look at the clothes that he was wearing. Looking down to examine them, he wore a black cloak with green symbols on them. Not immediately sure what they were as the cloak was in tatters from what seemed to be a serious fight, Hazama could barely make out what appeared to be the symbol of a green bat. The cloak had green lining on the inside, matching the color of his hair. His pants were of a blackish purple or blue, the same color as the headband across his forehead. Taking in this new look of his, Hazama could feel the earth shaking and then he heard a loud explosion.
A Dream Deferred
The explosion woke Hazama from his dream. The first thing he did was touch his hair. It was still just past his nose. It was indeed a dream, although it felt real, more of a premonition than anything. It seemed that war would come to Iwa. Hazama sat in the study of the Luciano Manor, the Primo as well as other Guardians were all there. Bothered, Hazama took Primo to the side and talked to him about everything. Primo told him that if he believed that it was a vision of the future, then what better to do than prepare for it. Agreeing with him, Hazama set out to have a walk within Iwagakure to clear his thoughts.
On his walk, something told Hazama to stop Blizzard's shop. As soon as he walked in Blizzard seemed unsurprised, as if he were expecting Hazama. Blizzard handed him a parcel that was addressed to him, but with no name as to who sent it to him. Unwrapping the parcel, stood the very same black cloak with Green bats that had been in his dream. Asking Blizzard if he knew who had sent it, he was told that it was simply left for him inside the shop. Shaking out the cloak, a letter fell out of the sleeves.
A little something to get the ball rolling. Now do me a favor and stop cutting your hair will you.
Hazama stared at the cloak and the letter back and forth in utter amazement and bewilderment. Blizzard inquired about what was going on. Hazama could only answer that he had absolutely no idea. All he knew was that now he had the cloak, and it would take a few more months before his hair would grow out to the length in his dream. It was in Blizzard's shop that Hazama saw the sign up sheet for the 32 Man Grand RP Tournament. What better way to prepare than a tournament?
Grand RP Tournament Round 1.
Number 3 on the roster, Hazama's first opponent was Korra of Amegakure. The fight was rather short lived. Hazama used explosions and gas to quickly dispatch of Korra, allowing him to advance to the next round.
Grand RP Tournament Round 2.
Hazama's next opponent was Zero Kelvin of Konohagure. He wore a strange armor that fit across his upper body and this worried Hazama. Frontal attacks not being able to work means that most of his attacks would have to come from either above or below. Zero started off the fight bringing real pressure to Hazama; literally. Hazama encased himself in earth to avoid a dangerous wind jutsu in combination with the gravity to avoid getting hurt. The pressure however was still on, and Hazama was in a tight spot pinned against the ground by gravity. Hazama would go on to activate his Curse Marked and be disqualified from this round of the tourney for reasons still unknown.
Grand RP Tournament Round Loser's Bracket.
His disqualification in the last matched dropped Hazama down to the loser's bracket in this double elimination tournament. Down but not out, he went on to face Zanshin and Kaiten, a Soma no Ko tag team. Hazama started off the fight trying to smash both of them in with mountain sized slabs of earth, making them have to defend on both sides. He would continue this double onslaught as a way to make them defend against multiple jutsu. Using this strategy, Hazama eventually won.
Grand RP Tournament Round 4.
Hazama's next opponent was Passion. Hazama first tried to blind Passion while casting him inside a genjutsu and attacking all at the same time, however that didnt work. Hazama then sneakily got Passion to inhale a dangerous gas, which stopped him from feeling pain in an attempt to cast him inside a genjutsu, however after Passion inhaled the gas, he cleverly found a way to escape Hazama's attacks and went on the offensive, spewing snakes that bit Hazama's face and charging him with venom.
With his role in the Grand RP Tournament over, Hazama thought that it was time to finally learn Fuuinjutsu. This was the prize of the Ye Olde Tournament. Hazama didnt want to miss out on the Grand RP Tourney to train in the sealing techniques. Now with his time free, he would be able to go find a sensei. Nagato took up the role of completing Hazama's Fuuinjutsu training. He then proceeded to train Hazama in the art of summoning snakes. Nagato's first asked Hazama if he wanted a scroll or a tattoo to summon the snakes. Choosing a tattoo, Hazama thought to have a tattoo of an Ouroboros, a snake eating its own tail.
