Gear Second or Gear Third

Which is better? In my opinion it's Gear Second because even though Gear Third gives Luffy a lot more physical strength, I think Gear Second offers Luffy a nice balance of enchanced strength and speed which in my opinion is perfect for combat. Also if I remember correctly when Luffy was fighting the Gorgon Sisters during the Amazon Lily Arc, he said that he was going to use his full power against them, and by full power, Luffy meant Gear Second.

Lastly, please don't choose one you think is better because you think it's cooler than the other, actually choose one because of the abilites.

Definitely gear second. I love all of his jet moves :D

Gear Second is better. Luffy gains incredible speed and his punch strength is drastically increased.....with Haku he even has red hawk. Gear third basically trades speed for power and area effect....the problem is that fast enemies can dodge, and after being used he goes back to being a kid.

Gear Second is overall more efficient between power and drawbacks

gear 2nd because it gives him speed and about half of gear 3rd power......plus gear 3rd used to have a lame side effect

Thanks for your replies guys, but I just want to ask one quick question. If Luffy is able to set his arm on fire by using haki and gear second at the same time, could he possibly cover his entire body in haki when he's in gear second, giving Luffy a fire like aura. If so how strong would he be?

It's possible, but I doubt Oda will actually make it.

Gear second is the best in my opinion, but gear third can do lots of things that gear second can't... so both are useful in their own way.
