Why does Kishi keep trying to humanize the villains?
It's really annoying they made Nagato into a wuss just by pulling out some book, rewrote Obito's entire image "because Rin died" and Kabuto got explained as a misguided youth. What's next, we hear about Madara's tragic history with his brother?

Why are you surprised ? No one wakes up one day and says "Hey, fk this world. I'll kill everyone from now on"
Every bad person in history has had reasons to be "bad".

Re: Why does Kishi keep trying to humanize the villains?
obito was sorta understandable......he really needed an explanation fo why he went evil...nagato was misguided....so far madara and oro are true villians. Madara has yet to say why he wants eye of moon plan, so it could be simply because he wants more power and to control the world. Oro doesnt care about anybody and just wants to be stronger than the so6p and know all jutsu.

I would like to agree with that, and i think its true in most cases, however Hitler had literally no reason other than he thought some group he didnt even belong to was pretty. Also i dont know much about vlad the impaler and he couldve had something bad happen to him, however having something bad happen to him doesnt match up with anything he did such as impaling people through their asses and drinking their blood. I'd beleieve you if you said something could happen to someone with reason that could make them kill that many people, but not in the ****ed up ways vlad did it, and hitler completely disproves your theory that everyone had a reason(he was jewish, and he wasnt even german).

Re: Why does Kishi keep trying to humanize the villains?
I don't like it either. I lost hope for Tobi, he's so going to get talk no jutsu'd. But there is still hope for Madara, I think he can make a great villain without any redeeming qualities. Somehow I can't help but think that Infinite Tsukuyomi was just a way ensnare Obito and that Madara has an agenda of his own. But as of right now, to me, the one true villain is Oro.
Beside, Naruto has other great antagonistic characters like Kakuzu, Hidan, Hanzo, Sasori, Danzo. People are complicated

Unless you're a psycho, you need a reason to be evil that happened in your life.

Re: Why does Kishi keep trying to humanize the villains?
Because it makes them more interesting?
Lets face it, a generic villain that wants to dominate/destroy for no reason is not appealing.

Re: Why does Kishi keep trying to humanize the villains?
Because in the end w'er all human and the biggest message Kishi is sending to us is that humanity/human side will always win over bad emotions.

Re: Why does Kishi keep trying to humanize the villains?
Because people are complicated creatures and most of the time they have reason for behaving the way they do.
Almost nothing is completely white or black - most are situated in the grey area.
That's what Kishimoto-sensei tries to show: that even the most vile villain has a reason for behaving like that and that nothing is as easy as it seems
