Katsuyu instantly or at least very quickly (no prior warning) provides Shizune and co. with a shockwave-dampening cushion. Explosions not actually close enough to BURN Tsunade wouldn't have much effect, if any at all.

Katsuyu has a liquid-type body. It's gelatinous, and as such, would make Tsunade able to completely ignore sound-based genjutsu, like Kabuto's liquefaction technique does.

Ooo that genjutsu one is interesting....although it would be kinda difficult to take advantage of it during battle.

And yes slugs are useful. Katsuyu is kinda underrated actually. And she seems really squishy especially her mini clones

On defensive, Katsuyu is the best. Hell, a mini-size Katsuyu resisten ChibakuTensei combined with Naruto's corrosive chakra up to 8 tails...
And genjutsu... well, doesn't genjutsu work on dispelling in a certain manner? (I haven't been doing any research on the Toad Genjutsu or Kabuto's one).

Actually, the genjutsu one seems the easier one of the two. Katsuyu can just slime herself along until she covers Tsunade's ears, it the battle isn't over by then. With prior warning, she would already be in place.

If Tsunade is able to summon Katsuyu THROUGH a sound genjutsu (seems like she should manage it through Kabuto's, for instance), she could block it even AFTER it has landed.
