Don't you just love paradoxes?They always make you think and make you wonder.One of my favorite ones.

Step 1: You travel to some seventy years back with the help of a time machine, to find your ever nagging grandmother who was just a toddler then and strangle her in sleep.

Step 2: That means one of your parent was never born since his/her mother died in her childhood.

Step 3: Which means you never existed.

Step 4: When you never existed, you never got to do time traveling or grandma killing.

Step 5: Thus, making your grandma alive. Also, your mom/dad got to live because of it and so do you.

Step 6: Which means you can go back to time and kill her. Thus, paradox continues as it does in every time traveling story.

Actually, physicists have a way of countering that. They say when you go back in time, and change the past, you simply create an alternate universe where your grandmother was murdered.

Whereas the time in which you came from remains unchanged; just without you since you trapped yourself in a seperate universe.

Hard to comprehend, I know.

such a weapon could never exist...
why...
for example...
1 - shoot a portal onto the top of a table.
2 - shoot a portal onto a nearby wall.
3 - throw the table through the portal on the wall.
what you get is a paradox becuase if i threw the table through the wall portal, it would have to come out of itself and that's not possible the snake skin paradox also states that it would destroy the table and therefore the portal having no mass will be itself destroyed meaning that portal on the wall having no mate could never of have exiatsed at all...

Here's another one. You go back in time and 'do' a woman who turns out to be your mother thus making you your own father and having your mother give birth to you, how does that work? I think they did that in a movie or something.

Hm, interesting concept. But wouldn't that just mean that you erased your entire existence when you killed your grandmother and thus you can't go back in time to murder her because you would never exist after you murdered her? I think ...

indeed but that theroy requires a forth dimension in whitch a new universe can form.
4x4 = 16 ~ 9 ( 900% ~ 1600% ) = the amount of extra space needed for this caluclation...
extra dimessions needed and based on your universal prespective we only have 3 or 4.

Actually you wouldn't erase your existence by killing your grandma. If you managed to travel back there, it means everything has changed already. The past is not what it was, it's a new time, because in the past you weren't there.
And to the point, why would killing your grandma in the past kill you? Sure you are technically her grandson, but your grandma and this grandma, they are just parallell grandmas. If you managed to travel back in time, you still have your link to your birth, linking two worlds together. So what if you kill your grandma? If she has a baby, it won't be your mom, because your mom is somewhere else. And if she then has a baby, it won't be you, because you are you. It could be a clone of you, but still not you.

Though time travel will never be possible fortunately. Think about it, throughout our entire history there hasn't been a single time traveller visiting us

You can't accidentally bang your own mother, you'd recognize her & her name would be the same, also it's not possible to be your own father. Which means that you would have knowingly banged your own mother, something tells me this is on your mind for a reason 0.o

everyone is just making use of language to make things contradict each other...
with no regard for there meaning instead of making actual paradox's...
i mean some of these are thought provoking but with no actual thought can be solved...
knowing alot about physics and maths one of my hobbies inculedes making solvable math based paradox's...
thats just abit sad huh... ?
