I'd expect better from Sanji, especially after a two year time skip. Hopefully Sanji will redeem himself in the next few chapters, if he doesn't then it kind of makes it feel like Sanji's two year training period was useless.

I would not judge sanji's fight with vergo so quickly. More than likely it would be that sanji was taken by surprise by the level of vergos armament but I doubt he would have gone down. We are not even sure if sanji used his own haki while fighting vergo, since vergo was not a DF user.

Sanji, fine. But what about Smoker? Do you really expect the guy who's supposed to be Luffy's counterpart like Garp was Roger's, get defeated like a....get defeated badly and Law just OPing the guy who just defeated Smoker? Sure, Smoker was just getting the heart but isn't he strong enough to do...better?

Ehm Law is one of the Supernova's and a Shichibukai. Time skip or not mangawise Sanji is supposed to be weaker than Law. Also Law hasn't been sitting still for the past two years. It would be quite sad if the number 3 of the Strawhats would beat or would be in the same league as someone like Law. On top of that Vergo is simply strong. Considering the level Vergo is meant to represent, Sanji did more than fine. There is no reason for him to redeem himself. It's not his two years training was useless, you are just having expectations that are misplaced.
