I never understood how people think he put up a fight against pein.....If all 6 paths were present fighting him at one time he would have been utterly slaughtered... In fact, deva and another can solo him... Deva alone if he uses his big guns like chibaku tensei etc..

Jariya gave pain a hard time? This has got to be one of the most outrageous statements I have come across on base. The second he faced the ACTUAL offense team, he lost an entire arm and the fight there and then. He only prolonged it foolishly and brutally lost to Asura alone. He faced petra, human, and Animal Path. The former are almost useless in offense mode and human even more so as it can do nothing without touching the opponent. The only offensive one he faced was animal path and he high-tailed out to go into SM mode when he couldn't get around his ampification technique and only managed to do something then.

Deva path alone makes up for 80% of Pain's power - 90% for high tier Jutsus - as any higher tier jutsu - large scaled or more powerful shinra tensai and Chibaku tensai - either requires him to complete shut off all the other paths - Chibaku tensai - or it results in severe slump in the other paths recovery - high tier shinra tensai. So Jiriya only faced about 5% of Pain's path, accomplished little and died quickly when he faced Asura.

Orochimaru is clearly more powerful than him. As both him and Tsunade with an intent to kill couldn't take out a complete incapacitated Orochimaru who was on his last leg of his immortality jutsu. He is clearly the most powerful sanin out of all three.

No, Pain himself said he would lose against Jiraiya if he knew Pain's secret. And Jiraiya was taken down summons and paths. So yeah. He gave them a hard time. And Oro stronger? That is just your opinion.

Jiraiya is one of the greatest ninja ever and it suck that he died but it was meant to be so naruto can futher his will and his ninja way but i dont think jiraiya is all to died he might be the all knowing? he did travel almost every where. if jiraiya was in the war he can solo all seven swordsmen and win and take down the most zetsu and even help the kage beat madara(maybe)

Top 10 = nope. Just measure how many jutsu Naruto have (a few only), that was all he taught. the rest, Naruto created himself.

Hanzo acknowledged the 3 as Sannin, as a team, but nothing mentioned as individual.

Genjutsu - Nope. Not up to date. Ask Kakashi. Naruto followed his method - still caught.

Ninjutsu - Nope. If you want to measure Jiraiya, then ask Naruto. Naruto created a few more for himself...

Even use the clone to do the fighting, while Naruto went somewhere to do sage mode. That's why Naruto was better than him, even at his age, full of smart ideas.

Legend status - Jiraiya was such a beast Kisame and Itachi refused to battle Jiraiya. Both Kisame and Itachi were out of chakra, after fighting with Kakashi, Gai, Kurenai and Asuma.

He will lost to both Orochimaru and Tsunade. Naruto did not seek the Toad, now seek more on Kurama. Naruto seek the Toad because Naruto want the (Big size) Toad to sit on Zetsu only. Both Orochimaru & Tsunade had at least one more jutsu which was medic nin. Orochimaru challenge Kurama (4 tails) and nearly killed Kurama (Naruto). Tsunade beat Naruto, as Naruto was his student. Just look at Sakura, being Tsunade's student, extreme powerful strength and now expert as Medic nin, better than Shizune. Sasuke being Orochimaru was on much higher level than Naruto during the hunt on Sasuke with Sai (first mission). In the end, Naruto did not summon the Toad anymore, after completion on Sage mode.
He re-adjust Naruto seal was common jutsu, Kakashi also did the same on Sasuke.

That's why Kishi had to write-off Jiraiya and the Toad. Nothing .......................

Jiraiya's is hugely underestimated, people will look past his feats because of how early on he died, but in any case there are no shinobi quite as talented and awesome as Jiraiya was.

He possessed a vast amount of unique abilities, there are few shinobi that could walk into the rain village undetected and almost defeat Pain with no knowledge of his abilities.

He is one of my favorite characters, but I'm not being bias when I say he remains one of the strongest in Naruto, even now.

So, Pain, knowing all his abilities and the extent of his own powers said that another shinobi would've beaten him if he knew his secret isn't enough proof for you? The same goes for Itachi and Kisame. Why else would they say it? Just for shits and giggles. No, they collectively did not overrate him. They knew if he had battled them respectively (w/ knowledge of Pain's tech) he would either be deadlocked or victorious. Itachi said that even if they had reinforcements, they could only be in a stalemate with Jiraiya.
