If you think Danzo was some kind of hero or even an anti-hero, this thread will finally open your eyes, read the whole thread, or don't bother arguing, I worked hard to make you people finally see the light.

Only someone who has missed the point of Danzos character can say he wanted to protect the leaf at heart.....cuz that is a sackload of shit....let me tell you why....

What Danzo wanted to protect^ as you can concur from that image, was his own ideal!!

He was against the teachings of Senju Hashirama! The man who started the hidden leaf and protected it with his principles, passing them on to those who loved the village and believed in that principle....The Will of Fire!

All his efforts went towards usurping the Hokage seat, so he could enforce his own ideals and discard the teachings of the man who founded Konoha.

And he couldn't even do it himself! You see, Danzo was a coward! Yes, a useless, spineless coward who used other people to achieve his motives...

Also...Izanagi was set up to be used 10 frikking times! And I also ask you this....did Danzo seem like the type of person who accepted his true self? Cuz only those that cannot, use Izanagi.

You see....even in a room full of Kage, Danzo chose to flee from Sasuke. Later on, Tobi caught up with him, who just wouldn't let him run away. So...Danzo had no choice but to fight, cuz trust me, that coward would have rather fled but he thought he was dealing with Madara, so he knew there was no escape. Hehe

Danzo was a self righteous, self centred, coward of a man, who made the youth give up their lives for him.

The only reason he even stepped out of his underground sewer, was to trick Mifune into choosing him as the supreme leader of the alliance, but the other Kages wouldn't have that, cuz they knew what kind of untrustworthy, garbage he was! They even suspected him of plotting the murder of noble Hiruzen. Which was also probably true...

Last thing you would say: oh oh but he saved Naruto by killing the frog when Pain came, that was a decision befitting a shinobi....

You see Danzo never protected anything, except himself ofcourse, what he wanted to protect was the tailed beast inside Naruto from Akatsuki, so that he could have it for himself!

Who said I was going to argue? Threads like these typically won't change the opinion of people, either you like Danzo or you don't. Anyway, I read the thread. An antihero is a protagonist who lacks heroic virtues and qualities (which can include bravery). That's how a coward can be a hero.

He has good intentions, but goes about them all wrong.

Big stick diplomacy. Both Kumo and Iwa are militaristic, he wanted Konoha to be as well Well then it's clear that what he really wanted to protect was his own way of life. On the day that Tobirama appointed Hiruzen, Danzo said that both his grandfather and father died in battle and that self sacrifice was a ninja's duty . Right..he was just missing the "self" part in self sacrifice. in order for them to be the best village. What makes you think Konoha wasn't the best already?! ! . He followed through with this when he proclaimed that casualties were necessary during the invasion of Pain.How are the non-ninja villagers who were dying included in this? He has said throughout his appearances that he does the things he does for Konoha.Exactly what a self proclaimed self sacrificing, self righteous, selfish and delusional man would say! He wanted to rule with an iron fist, but he still wanted to do everything for the betterment of Konoha. Do you see how those two statements contradict each other?
