Nb Mods...Out of controll?

Title says it all...

As of lately, Ive seen countless.

Trolls makeing threads about other members

Or other things.

But dont get banned or removed.

But then like last night, i saw a couple of members.

Banned for basically saying that one of them[mods] needs to be fired or replaced.

[he wasnt talking, bad or insulting anyone]

just speaking his mind, w/o being rude or any of that...

Thoughts?



I really think that we as a NB community, should demand for an small election...

On who we think should be suitable for the running of this site.

Because in all honesty, some of the mods have taken there power to far.


So im calling for all NB to make a petiton or something to that effect, to change the current staff of mods.

And if im banned over this thread.
Then i shall never return to this site again.

According to where this was posted and the guidelines for general discussion I believe it fits perfectly as this is a serious matter. I think it would be wise to vote for mods however not for us electing them. Voting in terms of whether or not they're doing a good job. If the community has the ability to fire and hire a mod that wouldn't end well at all but there's no harm in the community reviewing moderators.

I think the way to solve this issue is to let the community do a monthly review of moderators. It can be done based on the polling system in one thread so it does not clutter the server. Therefore moderators are reviewed effectively without the abuse of power from the community. However the reviewers must provide reason and proof as to why they voted to keep that moderator and vice versa.

You can insult/do anything you like to others members, Most mods won't care.

But asoon as you say something about a Mod, They bring the infraction/Ban hammer down on you.

I've called Nb members every name under the sun since i've joined, Didn't get a single infraction or warning, Yet i got one for saying "some Mods are assholes some arn't.

God forbid we say anything about the all powerful mobs.

This is a serious matter....

Alot of my friends were daily users of this site.

Didnt cause much trouble, but as soon as they called out certain mods.

They were Banned for months, which turned into peremently...

There should just be some type of way our voice can be heard.

The admins are the ones who choose the mods and global mods. I'm sure they know what they are doing if they choose someone.
It's not like they randomnly choose someone as a mod. There is a list of qualifications one has to meet before they are even selected as a choice.

Making a voting contest out of it would be ridiculous - it would probably turn into a popularity contest then.

Being a mod is not easy. It's more than just banning and infracting people. If you see a troll thread, report it and leave it alone, the mods will deal with it.
You can help the mods a lot with just reporting the threads that are against the rules and don't post on it.

Also threads about the mods are not allowed, like threads about members are not allowed.

When you signed up for this base, you agreed to follow the rules. The mods are the ones who make sure the rules are followed.

In fact if you go against the mods, you actually go against the admins of the site, considering they are the ones who choose the mods

This isn't specifically about people getting banned, he merely used it as an example. Its a thread about changing the current staff which to my knowledge is not illegal on this site.

Yes, let's vote for a whole new team of mods. It's not like they are the only ones who know how the site,works. You do realize that if we get rid of the current mods and a problem arises in the site, the new ones won't be able to fix it?


I suggest just leaving the mods be. Leave them alone and let them do their jobs. If you don't agree with a mod does, just keep it to yourself. You aren't the one getting banned so don't worry about it.

If the community acknowledges a problem, it is plausible that something may be done about it.

I agree, I get banned all the time, for insignificant things as it is.

I think new ones would suit the site better, and not just those random, die hard rule loving mods, but one of US, or few of US, should be mods.

Also guys, Mods don't just run around banning people. Most of the Mods areworking on updates for the site for your, the ungrateful community's, pleasure. Not only that, but they are constantly checking on the site for problems or errors. Mods aren't machines, they're busy people, humans.

This is very true. They do have lives along with fixing the base, updating the network, creating and approving bio's ect.

All mods are effective as all do their job. If a Mod wasn't effective, they wouldn't be a mod anymore.

If you want a mod to be friendly, just follow the rules and discuss or partake in RP or whatever peacefully.

And if you were banned, what you did wasn't insignificant, that's just how you biasly conceived it.

hmhm.. I do think that the mods sometimes prolong meaningless actions... like infracting for posting on a troll thread. Instead of wasting time on infracting everyone who posted in a troll thread, make sure, that as a mod, you quickly delete those threads and ban the troll. I found that vision rule ridiculous.. But yeah, I guess a mod will come on this thread with smart-ass grammar and shut it down.

See, this is where you're wrong. It's not your interpretation of the rules that matters, it's the mods interpretation.
