In addition, Jiraiya carries a large scroll on his back, with few small scrolls on his sides. There is also a single tattoo on each of his wrists.

Jiraiya: ....!!! Well.. Well.. if it isn't Shikaku of shadows, the Jōnin Commander of Konohagakure and head of the Nara clan. I admit that you are the least expected one to show up at this time of the day..!
Anyway let's kill some time...!

As soon as Jiraiya finished speaking, he focuses his earth chakra while performing the bird hand seal and creates a multiple stone spikes around you in a circular fashion such that the spikes emerge from all around you at a close range with their sharp tips converging towards your abdomen/thorax region while rising from ground.

Shikaku then see’s Jiraiya performing the bird hand seal and an earth spike start to emerge from Shikaku’s ground, so he quickly create a chidori within his right palm and smash it into the ground creating a thunder bolt all around in circular manner, destroying any earth spikes which comes in contact with it, then the lightning bolt expanding continue toward you, destroying your flesh into pieces before you are managed to continue your next move.

As Jiraiya notices Shikaku creating a powerful lightning jutsu on his right palm proceeding towards a slamming motion, without wasting a moment Jiraiya generates an immense fire chakra in his body and spits out an intense flame in front of him, towards the ground at 45 degree angle creating a massive flow of intense fire rising against the ground in vertical direction and makes it rage towards Shikaku, while Jiraiya keeps an eye out for Shikaku's shadows on the ground.

Jiraiya then immediately in quick motion performs a bird seal and creates around 15 spikes of about 1.5 meter length to protrude from the base of the trench while Shikaku is falling towards the floor of the trench and waits for the "scream" of getting pierced while simultaneously watching out for any suspicious movement especially from below as Shikaku is now beneath Jiraiya's level into the ground.

I think my lightning just pass through your fire jutsu as Fire Vs. Lightning, they will just pass through each other. But I’m not searching for winning so I just let it slide.

After Shikaku’s lightning bolt destroying all of the earthen spike and expanding toward jiraiya, he see’s a huge intense flames coming upon him, blocking his vision upon his opponent, so without hesitate, Shikaku perform a single hand seal and spit out a water wave, engulfing your fire and extinguished it, creating a huge smoke screen thus blocking our sight each other. Then Shikaku start to fall down as his ground have suddenly vanished, as his intelligences above average, shikaku knew something bad would wait for him at the base of the trench and his opponent will need a sign of his death, so he quickly pull 2 kunais attached with a string each, and throw it to the pit wall on his left side and pull himself against the wall, and while his body flee toward the kuais, shikaku performing a single hand seal to create a clone then let the clone continues to fall down to the base of the trench, and Shikaku himself hanging on to the kunais with his both arms each. When the clone disperse due to hit the spike, Shikaku gain an information about the spike and he thing on him self. Hum... just as i thought. Then Shikaku start to scream loud as like he hits the spike, scream like experiences a very painful condition, so the opponent would think Shikaku are really death.

(Suiton: Dai Bakusui Shōha) - Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave

Shikaku awaits for a few second to distract the opponent due to he thing Shikaku was already death in the base of the trench, then shikaku raise his right arm facing the sky while his left arm still hanging on his other kunais and creating a cloud which suddenly burst a large amount of lightning bolts raining down upon the battle field also at your origin position, hit your body and causing a severe damage.

As the Jiraiya notices unusual amount of smoke and sees a wave of water on the ground (which would neutralize my fire and continue as A rank, I guess), Jiraiya continues on with his intended move and immediately slams his hands on the ground while focusing his earth chakra and creates a 5 meter wide and 10 meter deep trench of square shape(with speed shown in anime) right below Shikaku, taking him out by surprise due to the sudden loss of his footing and fall into the deep trench taking care that he (Jiraiya) also doesn't fall in. The earth jutsus acts both as supplementary and defense against the water wave, as it makes both shikaku and the remaining water from his previous jutsu fall in simultaneously due to the size of the trench.

Thus Shikaku will be falling alongside with the water from his own water jutsu.

Shikaku then suddenly falls down into a hole, as his ground have falls down. So without delaying any second, he grab a kunai attached with string and quickly throw it upward into near of the edge of the trench wall behind shikaku and pull his body against the wall, passes the water, and when he reach the wall with his hand holding the kunai but his feet on the wall, he quickly emerge with the ground and travel underground backward to long range (your sight was blocked with the smoke screen and your lightning would just hit your rising pillar where I already escape going underground to long range between us, where you off course didn’t aware it due to the smoke screen).

(Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu) – Earth Release: Hiding like a mole technique

It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth.
