i thought about that too. normally to awaken someone from a genjutsu, you have to disrupt the chakra flow which should have happened when orochimaru took all his sage chakra back. but that isn't the case here. kabuto will remain trapped in the loop until there is further use for him. he's exhausted his cards in this war. with edo-tensei, his sage and artificially acquired abilities gone he has no other part to play. i even see him coming back to his senses if he'll ever come back 'cos itachi gave him enough food for thought. however, it will still require someone's help to undo that jutsu

this genjutsu is different than other techs, it's a conditional genjutsu, if the condition is met the person can break free... it's kinda like a soul purification program ^_^... also his senses are caught in the tech that's why any disturbance in chakra can't save him.

I bet you anything when he awakens from the loop he will realise what he's done eg summoning edo madara and will somehow help out the alliance in some way possibly by somehow reviving madaras rival hashirama senju the only shinobi capable of defeating/killing madara if you ask me i got a feeling yamato and possibly that hashirama plant clone will be of use against madara and possibly the jubi but i dunno i could be very wrong.

I bet you only Kabuto can stop Edo Madara. I bet his charm kunai is still within Madara's head and only reacts to Kabuto's chakra. That's the whole reason for Kish not to have killed Kabuto cause he's still needed.
