L is a very slim, tall young man with black hair and dark eyes. One of his most noticeable features is the shadow below each of his eyes, a result of sleep deprivation. L is always shown to be wearing blue jean pants and a long-sleeved, white shirt. He almost never wears shoes or socks, preferring to go barefoot while even in public.

Personality:

L describes himself as having a "childish nature", one who is unyielding and hates to lose. Highly intelligent and perceptive, he will use whatever means he can and even take drastic measures to achieve his aims. He is also a risk taker and has no qualms about disclosing his weaknesses and risking his life if it means having a chance to nail down his opponent. L is very intelligent, though his disheveled and languid appearance masks his great powers of deduction and many question his abilities upon viewing him. L tends to second-guess everything he is presented with, and is extremely meticulous and analytical. He is good at deceiving his opponents, and is willing to take drastic measures to win. He is also shown to have a dry sense of humor, and isn't above making sarcastic remarks to people. Although he tends to be polite, to some L can seem quite rude and uncaring at times. L uses subterfuge, misinformation, disinformation and an analytical knowledge of human nature to help lure his opponent into a false sense of security and possibly make him carelessly over-confident, something L could capitalize on and use to his advantage.

L also has several quirks. These include L eating only sweet foods such as desserts, candy and fruit, preferring to crouch rather than to sit and holding objects only using his thumb and finger.

Background Info

History:

L was born in Konoha and spent most of his life as an orphan after his mother died at child birth and his father later in a mission while L was young. Because of this he was taken in by a local villager, Watari, and raised in his orphanage the Wammy's House. As L grew up he began to train in Taijutsu especially. He continued his training in Konoha before deciding to relocate to Sunagakure in order to be with his friends who also relocated there. Hearing great stories about the training quality in Sunagakue, L plans on resuming his Taijutsu training there as well as hopefully improving his some what bad Ninjutsu skills. However, presently L is just lazing around Sunagakure with his friends, eating sweets everyday, until he can find a Sensei willing to teach him.
