He's not a dumbass; he's just lost in the wake of hearing what really happened to his family.

Would you be able to function fine if you had believed for many years that your brother just snapped one day and killed your entire clan for no apparent reason, got to hear you had to hate him to defeat him and then when you finally kill him, you get to hear that the village, that your brother was set on protecting, feared a coupe and told your brother to kill the entire clan and he only did that in return for keeping you alive and safe?
I doubt many people would be happy after hearing that. I'm not saying that his reasons are justified - most of the villagers are innocent after all, but I can understand why he wants to get revenge. An eye for an eye - or in this case more accurately a village for a clan *shrugs*

People who slight Sasuke need a perspective and an intelligent one at that. People who ACTUALLY face the heat, chaos, bloodshed, and misery of war or life don't build hope bridges and the related BS like Naruto does. The village benefited and reaped the benefits of his clan's slaughter, just like it happened for Nagato. A man who loses everything, what has he left as a purpose in life? There is a philosophical twist to Sasuke's character that how lack of familial bonds create madness.

He portrays the notions of Dark Romanticism in a sense. His actions are justified to the very core. He rejects the petty ideals of Nation and the concepts governments use as tools to galvanize their people into action and create more violence. The ultimate end to the violence should be Konoha's death. How many people has its establishment murdered for its gain? Sasuke is not a dumbass, it's just your silly and lame perspective.
