Kenpachi isn't a clan. It even said in the last chapter that Kenpachi means that that person is the strongest Shinigami. Yachiru Unohana is her real name, probably using it for secrecy and only Ukitake and Kyoraku know this. Still hasn't been explained much, but it was still epic.

retsu unohana and yachiru unohana is same person just she changed her name (or retsu is her nickname,i remember when guy from 0 squad he called her retsu and there was translation for retsu something like deamon i think)
kenpachi clan doesn't exsist it's title to shinigami who is strongest in generation

So Yachiru Unohana is like a nickname or that of a battle name such as the "Flash of Konoha"

Translating the name she would be 800 Flows Unohana. Sounds to me like a combat title.

Also Retsu which is her first name means Violence which now makes sense due to her being the first Kenpachi.

Not necessarily. It could mean that. But it could also mean that he new of her. The name could've have been famous and that Zaraki never had a personal relationship with her.

as we all or some of us thought kenpachi really was more dangerous than shown and old man yama knew it i wouldnt be suprised if they had a hand in making sure kenpachi didnt achieve bankai

also remeber to some of these post as quincy guys asaid the SS used to be a bunch of murderous thugs so unohana was 1 too maybe

like in some scenarios she was tired regretted what she did and was afraid of the things she done and thought that healing would ease her mind
this also explains why aizen didnt attack her and why everyone is cared when she smiles for all we know during her past she probably smiled when killing people

The way I see it, Unohana was an extremely efficient killer back in the day. Perhaps even one of the Gotei 13's first generation - the bloodthirsty killers.

It's strange how throughout the entire manga thus far she has never wanted to do anything but heal people. Even enemies in Hueco Mundo. My guess is it's been her way of trying to repent for her past because clearly she doesn't seem proud of it. Notice how she cringed during her talk with Kirinji.
