What's special about Rin?

I've been rereading the chapter where Obito saw Kakashi kill Rin and go nuts. Anyhow, it seems the whole point of the mist ninja's mission was to capture Rin. Kakashi killed her for no apparent reason, and the ninja seemed determined to retrieve her body even after she was killed, so it can't be information.

I was thinking the whole thing might have been engineered by Madara to turn Obito to his side, but Obito did see from Kakashi's eye for a while so I don't think that can be it (unless Madara's influence runs really deep). Also there's that tiny matter of Obito controlling yagura for a while after that and starting the bloody mist regime. I'm stumped really, there must be more to that story than has been revealed yet. the only logical conclusion is that rin had some special ability, but if so she displayed none of it so far

simple....maybe a special ability....but the mist nin were after her because their kage wanted them to be(since anbu are controlled directly by the kage) so it was madara making the mist nin to kill or capture her to convert obito....

Hahaha how about the lovely smile, or wonderful personality ;D eyes and body are a bonus!

OT: Rin had either a special technique, special body ancestry ( A clan that's equivelent to the Senju or Uzumaki). Or she had Intel that they could take from her body with some technique. Also if you noticed they were already the bloody mist! Which means either Kishi's mistake or the real Madara started the bloody Mist....why Obito couldn't put that and Rin's death in his head I don't get

I agree completely that Rin's story has been left incomplete. But this is just like Kishi's style in telling the manga. Anyone remembers the mystery of Pain before we got to know his real identity as Nagato? That back story was also told in pieces with the final piece told at the conclusion of the fight. I think that Rin's full story will also be revealed just as the fight is concluded or about to conclude here too.

Yeah Rin's story is incomplete at this stage, even if Madara did orchestrate the whole thing then why did Kakashi kill Rin? That is the question that needs and will be answered at some point over the next few months. I doubt Kakashi was being controlled by anyone and it seems like what that spiral Zetsu done for Obito during that time is not what Madara wanted or asked him to do, I could be wrong on this.

Either Rin had a special ability and asked Kakashi to kill her or Rin was a spy for the Mist and she obtained some information which was stored in her body. Those are the only logical things that come to my head at the moment any way.

Well, she can apparently change her hair color. hahahah Her secret will come with time. There has to be some reason the mist wanted her. But that is not known to us at this time.

maybe rin was kishi's daughter and they wanted her to force kishi to give them more manga time and focus.
