So the main problem here is the whale, no it won't crush Kato, it was very very reduced in physical mass when MB used the sticky technique, normally the technique is gigantic and it has a massive weight, but all that weight turned into a dense liquid, which doesn't have nearly as much physical weight as the earlier version of the technique, now onto Kato's mistake, using Nagashi wouldn't destroy the Ice, first it's made of sticky liquid, not solid Ice structures, and Nagashi doesn't destroy, it negates the chakra halting the progress of the technique and causing it to retract in case of earth techniques, attacking something as gigantic as the white whale with Nagashi wouldn't destroy it it will only cancel the sticky proprieties of it as it falls normally onto you, the weight of the sticky liquid will pressure you down to the ground making it very hard to move until you get rid of it, but it doesn't stick on you due to the lightning, i'm not sure if lightning will be channeled through the sticky liquid but i'm inclined to say no, so it's MB's move, and the liquid would render you unable to use the other techniques in your move after Nagashi, as both require handseals.

As Renji begins to descend due to the weight Sticky 'Ice' Haku swiftly takes out his left sword and delivers a horizontal slash that will intercept your descend and hit you in the ribcage, as he released the 'blade' Haku caused four large spikes of ice to emerge, one form the back and it is aimed towards your lower back, the other two are from each of your sides, the one on your left is aimed towards your left shoulder and will continue towards your head due to the inclined angle in which it emerges, the one on your right is aimed to hit your right leg and continue towards the left leg, the final spike of ice is directly beneath you and it is aimed to hit your 'pride', Renji being distracted by the incoming blade will have a hard time defending against the spikes of ice.

As Renji begins to descend due to the weight Sticky 'Ice' Haku swiftly takes out his left sword and delivers a horizontal slash that will intercept your descend and hit you in the ribcage, as he released the 'blade' Haku caused four large spikes of ice to emerge, one form the back and it is aimed towards your lower back, the other two are from each of your sides, the one on your left is aimed towards your left shoulder and will continue towards your head due to the inclined angle in which it emerges, the one on your right is aimed to hit your right leg and continue towards the left leg, the final spike of ice is directly beneath you and it is aimed to hit your 'pride', Renji being distracted by the incoming blade will have a hard time defending against the spikes of ice.
