Probly just an abnormal soul that became dog like. Maybe he was a human eaten by a hollow that normally only preyed on dogs and something went wrong when purified

I think lol maybe he was a dog or human and when he died he went to a dead body of a dog or human lol or he is just a half dog half human lol
