Obito's Sharingan

On the night he attacked Konoha, how was Obito able to control the Nine-Tails with just a normal Sharingan? I thought you needed the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan to control the Nine-Tails.

Not really I supposed. We might just not know the limitations of a Sharingan I suppose. He did control the forth Mizukage. And got information from Yamato. I honestly can't give you any proof how it's different cause it very well seems like a regular Sharingan is capable of controlling the nine tails. Weird huh?
