It was not clear for me. What does Obito do with his kamui actually?

Obito used the Sharingan's "Chakra Vision" to spot the enemies, but it didn't work because the bugs disruption jutsu served it purpose well.

More like his Sharingan special ability of seeing chakra in order to sense the Shinobi Army. However, he was unable to becuase the jamming of insects.

The Sharingan sees chakra, but doesn't differentiate chakras. If you put a wall of chakra in front of the Sharingan, it can't see the chakra signatures of people behind that wall because it will only see the chakra from the first image. Basically, the bugs all clump together in such a large mass that the only thing the Sharingan can see is a giant wall of chakra.

It would be different if they were regular bugs. They'd see through them and see the chakra signatures of all the ninja behind the swarm. But these ain't your normal bugs. They're permeated with the chakra they devoured from the Aburame clan.

WRONG. Sharingan differentiates Chakra by color so it can differentiate. The bugs have chakra jammers that distruot the chakra. this disturbance in chakra leaves Obito looking at disrupted chakra. Simple as that

Mist :
The thick mist makes difficulty for the sharingan to detect any incoming attacks.
Bugs :
The Bugs spread all over the place, jams the ability of sensing anyone nearby. Because the chakra of the bugs will prevent it. So through a Sharingan many chakra spots will be seen and becomes difficult to assume enemy's chakra out of the bugs' chakra.

Sorry, but you're the one that's wrong. The Sharingan doesn't differentiate chakra signatures. It adds color to chakra, but not different colors per different chakra signature. If this were the case, then Zabuza's mist jutsu wouldn't block Kakashi's Sharingan eyesight. All Kakashi could see was the chakra inside the mist, not the chakra of the people who were also inside the mist. That's why he had to rely on his nin-dogs to sniff out Zabuza.
