What is the "art of killing"?
When read this week's Bleach chapter, I was confused at first. Is the "art of killing" shikai and bankai (like will Unohana teach Kenpachi how to activate his?) Or is it something new we haven't seen before? Or is it even a metaphor of just perfect Kenpachi's skills and nothing more into it than that (like vague, overall training, not a specific technique)? Ok, thanks :D

Re: What is the "art of killing"?
The art of killing is Kendo.
Kendo is basically just sword fighting. If your recall the fight against Nnoritora his last attack was using proper Kendo.
Unohana is an expert in Kendo and so she will teach her younger Kenpachi how to use Kendo.

Re: What is the "art of killing"?
So far Kenpachi has never really learnt to kill, so to speak. Him and Unohana are completely opposite as Kenpachi's.
Zaraki loves to draw out fights, but dislikes killing, and i reckon Unohana didn't like drawing out fights, but loved to kill, and loved to rack up the corpse count during battle. Would be interesting to see her kill:heal ratio over the course of the series
I'm not sure about shikai or bankai but Unohana will definitely change his mentality when it comes to fighting, as well as boosting his kendo power. I wouldn't mind seeing a shikai and bankai from him to be honest, but if he starts learning demon arts then i think they'll be changing his character too drastically

Re: What is the "art of killing"?
A lot of guesses here I'm impressed my guess is this though remember back when juha was talking with Yama saying back a when we first met you were more ruthless and bloody and how the originals were all power hungry take no prisoners type. I believe it has to do with this. I will post the link to the page so you understand what I am referring to.

Re: What is the "art of killing"?
I think it is to kill the opponent, rather than look for a good fight, which is what he always wants. So i'm sure theyre gonna teach him how to fight properly, and go for the kill rather than have a good time.

Re: What is the "art of killing"?
Currently Kenpachi has been going for Fun and Pure excitement while fighting hes opponents.
If he where to be convinced by Unohana to go for the "kill" and "murder" hes enemies then it would be a different story and Kenpachi might truly be "considered" Strongest Shinigami inside Soul Society.
If Kenpachi becomes a master swordsman like the former CC.
Then Kenpachi could become a truly dangerous beast on the fighting grounds.
And who knows , might even surpass the former CC.
But knowing Kenpachi this would not be an easy task for Unohana , since for Kenpachi fighting for fun is all that he wants from this world and nothing more.
The Only reason Kenpachi followed former CC orders was because , the former CC was a platform for him to meet strong foes on all realms.
If Unohana will change Kenpachis heart by some means then it would be possible for him to change.
Maybe Unohana is the only Shinigami capable of this.
Since She was the first Kenpachi.
Opinions?

Re: What is the "art of killing"?
People need to realize something. Kenpachi has no SKILLS. He just swing his sword wildly around and anything he does know is self taught. Hell, it toke him a single day of training to learn that 'two hands swinging a sword' makes it stronger. That alone increased his killing power by a lot.
If he is actually taught proper techniques, even the simple basics, he will be freaking insane. His bankai is five tiers up.

Re: What is the "art of killing"?
Well it pretty much has already been said, but I personally find it straightforward. Kenpachi hasn't learned anything nor did he want to learn anything, simplistically said he just swings his sword around. The fact is that he is just extremely powerful, so powerful that he can even beat captain class characters with just his raw power. But it's also a fact that someone who trains, will become better.
All the other captains became so strong due to their extensive training. So Kenpachi is already in their league just with his raw power. Imagine what you get if he actually learns to harness that power and use it effectively...a monster beyond a monster, which is why Shunsui said that Kenpachi is so important. They weren't able to stop the Quincies with their battle power and that was when the still had Jama-ji, so logically speaking they would be screwed right now. The only person among the Gotei 13 who actually has enough potential to significantly grow in a short timespan is Kenpachi Zaraki. Even if all the other captains plan to train ferociously, it's not like their growth would be enough to make a real difference. After all Kenpachi is the only captain ever in the Gotei 13 who became a captain without achieving bankai and he still can go toe to toe with most of the other captains.
That can mean, but not necessarily, that Kenpachi might achieve bankai, but that would just be a part of it.
