the least expected?...not really, if someone told me there was 1st Kenpachi in current Captains, than it Unohana would be an obvious choice O__O i mean, Jushiro and Shunsui were students of Yama-jii, Soi Fon too young, Shinji and other Vizards are not that epic, Mayuri? not a chance, Toshiro too young, Komamura doesn't fit at all, Byakuya is Kuchiki and too young at that as well, and Zaraki can't be firest Kenpachi obviously ; Unohana fits the best as everyone is scared of her, and she is most likely 1 of the original Gotei 13 Captains as many think (and hope)

when i read thet unohana is first kenpachi my brain exploded it was holy shit and i was so happy cuz they will teach zaraki to be a bloodthirsty killer even more,he will become so powerful

i like this chapter but i am so confused as what is happening now?!?!??! Who's who and what lol

Ok so here is a run down.

1. Shunsui has taken Yammamoto's place as Captain Commander and captain of Squad 1
2. Unohana Retsu was the first ever Kenpachi (title given to the strongest shinigami)
3. Yachiru means 800 flow which sounds like a Kendo technique....Unohana is a master of Kendo, and so she is Yachiru Unohana.
4. Kenpachi named Yachiru after Unohana's title name (Yachiru) because appsrantly she is the only person he has admired (as in respect).

The whole bath thing was that apparently normal people would be burnt to death in thst spring which is why the two assistants had protective garments, but where still burnt. Tenjiruo or whatever (toothpick guy) basically punched at Renji and Ichigo...the fact that Ichigo retaliated and cracked his arm shocked him. The fact Renji tanked a punch surprised him. Apparently the Soul Long has taken some special interest in Ichigo...it makes sense.

Part of him obviously misses Yama-jin...then he now is responsible for the protection of the Gotei 13.

After that he is placing Unohana on the front lines...probably doesn't like that.

..... hate to say this but I'm jumping on the bandwagon nd claiming her my 2nd fav (kenpachi first) she was one of the ppl I like wanted to see fight real bad! Nd now! I always knew she was strong I told my brother on the chap that guy said " your not fit for healing right now.... Wat u need to do is fight" nd her expression was like I was like.... I have a strong feeling... Her bankai will have NOTHING to do with her role as a healer. All I want now is to wait for gin to return. Pink hair yachiru to fight. Shinji, new cc nd the sick guy to use their bankai then I will forever be happy. Btw. Is it me or do u think pink hair yachiru nd yachiru unohana have a connection

Anyway the Soul king has fallen for Ichigo?...a bit weird but I'll wait until Mangastream until I give a real verdict, however Ichigo was able to strike back at Kirinji when he got punched even messed up his hand...or do you think Ichigo's Blut Vene unconsciously activated again...

I didn't really care for Renji this chapter...but he managed to take a punch though he was shaking after it...but why isn't Rukia healed yet.

Also o_O With Ichigo messing that guy's hand up and Renji surviving a punch and the bath's o_O Are Renji, Rukia, Byakuya and Ichigo going to become members of the Zero Division!? If so who will take their spots in the Gotei (except for Ichigo due to he is not an official member of the gotei)

Don't hate jumping on the Unohana train!!!! I've personally loved her since she was introduced...I'm curious to see how her Kenpachi differs from Kenpachi's....though it will be hilarious if she just rolls on the field like a complete lunatic

Yeah, awesome chapter, Kyōraku is the new Captain-Commander, Unohana was the first Kenpachi. . . . . . . . . but, only my favorite dude was left out, Ukitake.
I'm mentioning him cuz he is similar to Kyōraku and Unohana, one of the oldest Captains, like them his Bankai is not revealed, and in that case his Shikai was shown for a short while too. :shrug:

First, If Ichigo surprised the 0-squad guy by making him damage after being punched (and sent flyling) why is he not impressed at all with renji, who didn't even fly? Is it because Renji was already ready for the attack and Ichigo wasnt?

Second, Kenpachi Zaraki, the one who surpassed the previous kenpachi... Is a beast " unrefined "? So, he is truly one of the 5 special man, but why did they fear him so much? Even yamamoto? Does this mean that Kenpachi Zaraki trained would be better than Yamamoto?

It was more of what Ichigo was able to do when Kirinji punched Ichigo, Ichigo made it so all the power in the blow went back into Kirinji's hand...don't know how and he's impressed because Kirinji is meant to be like the fastest of the 0 division it his nickname was anything to go by.

He was impressed with Renji as well but Renji braced himself for the attack not mention he got punched in the stomach I doubt Renji would of been standing if he got punched in the face plus in one panel you see Renji's hand shaking clearly it caused him pain.

Yamamoto feared allowing Kenpachi to train to his potential so yeah he could become stronger but it's pure speculation though to be honest I don't see how he would be able to beat all the 13 captains even if he did require Shikai or Bankai.

What I don't get is why the spirit king is so interested in Ichigo and also so impressed perhaps this is a future foreshadowing of Ichigo joining 0 squad or perhaps the Spirit king is intrigued by Ichigo because he is Isshin's son.
