Why do so many people love Madara?

Hello everyone.

I think the title is pretty self-explanatory. Why do you think people love Madara so much?

It's beyond me, honestly. I can't stand him at all. His genericness knows no bounds - to me he's just another buffed up villain with a god-complex who will inevitably taste defeat. His remarks are rarely 'badass' or 'boss' as some people like to claim they are - throwing around insults like a little child is no way to impress me of a badass character. His power level is too damn high for me to take seriously, and I have never been one for huge differences in battle abilities.

I do like his design though.

Oh well, please, enlighten me. He bores me to the extreme and I look forward to seeing him hugging the ground.

I think hes funny in the way that he doesnt really give a damn and is pretty laid back. Other than that i dont really like his character all that much

Hm...imo though he may seem like a generic character, we don't know much about him and his true intentions. Sure we get a few thoughts from him but mostly its about Obito and not himself. In addition, Madara and Obito claim to have the same goals, yet they're fighting may hint that Madara's true goal isn't about 'world peace'. Plus, like everyone said, he's very strong. And when I mean strong, I mean he's the strongest character in the series so far. I like to see Madara as another impossible odd that naruto will somehow overcome. That's why I like Madara anyways

The reason people love him is because he is currently the strongest charadter in the series. If we see someone else surpass him, watch and see how many fans he/she gets. Relax.

His unrivaled arrogance is appealing to most. Also, you may not be a fan of his constant belittling of his opponents but I found them quite funny in otherwise boring/standard rape scenes. And as you've already mentioned, his character design is pretty good. He's not my favourite but I do like him as a character.

They only like him because of his appearence and his power. But Madara is a flat character who lacks development, I actually like Obito more because he has personality and development.
