True but it was probably due mainly to fuinjutsu and his ninja tools. He appears to have gotten the majority of his power from the Juubi though seeing that it is clearly the origin of both the rinnegan and mokuton.

I'm a believer that he obtained the rinnegan through mastering the ways of chakra and learning it's secrets....which is how he defeated the juubi. At least that's my personal take.

When Minato was sealing Kurama, he said he couldn't even grasp how much chakra the Biju had. He managed to seal half of it, the So6P sealed an entity that is several times stronger. Hell, even when Naruto did his Sage Mode sensing, he couldn't even begin to comprehend just how massive the chakra was. Not to mention the current Juubi is incomplete.

I mean obviously its possible considering we dont know much about him but that seems a little too coincidental to me that the Juubi just happens to have both the rinnegan and mokuton you know? Its called the progenitor for a reason. But yes, assuming he is an Uzumaki, he probably had pretty powerful fuinjutsu however him being able to seal a lightning fast Naruto versus a pretty immobile Juubi is still in the air.

Im well aware of that but keep in mind the sacred tools and their abilities as well as the possibility of the sage originally being an Uzumaki meaning massive chakra reserves as well as extensive mastery of fuinjutsu. Clearly the powers of both the Uchiha and Senju originate from the Juubi.
