Be redeemed but realize he can't return to Konoha and goes off to find his own path with Naruto and Sakura supporting his choice, but remaining in Konoha to pursue their dreams. It would leave it open for his own story that way.

I think Sasuke is an awesome complex character, and on some level, would love for it to be a happy ending where he fights Naruto, realizes what is right, redeems himself and comes back with him.
But he has gone too far to the dark side, to the point where he may not be able to go back. Perhaps if he can find out how to fulfill his second life goal (revive Uchiha) in a positive way, he could be redeemed. Otherwise, the best that can be hoped is for him to die heroically.

After being defeated by Naruto or tieing with Naruto (either way is fine by me) I would prefer that he was able to let go of his hatred and becomes a wandering Shinobi.
