Thanks. I also have the benefit of being well educated. Unfortunately, my English skills have lagged since I've gone to college and devoted my skills to science. Consequently, I have been reading less straight English literature and more scientific journal articles, which are heavy on the jargon and light on the broader vocabulary.

According to the test, my total vocabulary size is estimated to be 42,100 words.




Edit: just went back and took the test again in order to see how credible the test actually is, missed a lot of words intentionally and the result was 40,200 words.

so that test is nothing more than a joke, and that is not just judging by what I said above..

also, I'm in no way saying that the results anyone got here were false, and I'm absolutely not doubting the knowledge of anyone here, I'm just saying that I don't think it is to be trusted.
