Jiraiya's death was good. It was a plot device to give naruto character development, and grow as a man. With Kishi's logic, if you aren't killed permanently you will surely return via edo tensei so you can do nothing but get beat by fodders and irrelevants. Thats why I said maybe if your statement was referring to me but I wasn't entirely sure of her skill set with that teleportation so that's why I didn't say it wasn't 100% sure that she died.

HQ was in the Land of Iron, where the samurais came from. So Cloud Village is safe.

But I do find it strange that Kishi did not even mention Mabui or any of the other "fodders" at HQ, like Ao. He only gave Shikaku and Inoichi panel time. It could just be that he forgot about them. But since Kishi is the master/creator of the No-character-left-behind program, he could use these "forgotten" one to bring back the whole lot of them later. I don't know how he would do it but I guess it leaves an opportunity to do so if he wants to say they survived.
