Why does everyone like Hinata so much?

One thing Ive noticed is that Hinata is disproportionately liked by males and disproportionately disliked by females (the opposite is true for Sakura), I surmise that the reason for this is probably sexual. Hinata is a feminine character, I mean in terms of personality (shes gentle, quiet and whatnot) whereas Sakura comes off as well ....b1tchy. A loud/obnoxious demeanor is a masculine trait.

well the top comments are a shallow bunch. but to answer your question ive always liked her shy and timid personality im a sucker for that type thing and the fact that she actually has a background story that she can compare to naruto. while we barely now anything about sakura and her background and where she comes from and i also cant stand sakura's personality at times -_-

People like Hinata because of these reasons:

She makes a better heroine than Sakura because of her backstory, Kekkai Genkai, and her Clan's relation to the So6P.
She has always loved Naruto before he was kicking ass and going nine-tails on the enemies asses, something people praise her for.
She has a better body than Sakura and places a bigger role than her and she is stronger than Sakura.

That's all I can think of.

Hinata: she's empathetic, tolerant, understanding, patient, shy, hopeful, and self improving. Other than being shy, these are qualities that are universally wanted. People like her because they want to be her pretty much. (imo).

Exactly. People still see the Sakura that she was in Part 1, and doesnt care as much on how she has developed.

Well your opinion is actually supported by scientific evidence. I subscribe to the scientific theories of Sociobiology and Evolutionary Psychology, call me sexist or whatever but I do support the view that there are inherent sex differences in psychological predisposition between the sexes (there may be genetic variation for these but they exist at the population level nevertheless). At the population level, men and women think differently, we have different psychological proclivities.

The modern world of the feminist is a drop in the ocean in the history of man, our brains have evolved in the primitive environment of our ancestors. Feminists may dislike it but human beings evolved with gender roles; males have always been the dominant sex and females have pretty much always been the dependent/subservient sex and our psychology has evolved to reflect this.
