Who are the real villains in Star Wars?

I am an avid star wars fan and have been since I saw the first film when I was 3. If you don't play the games or read the books you might want to leave cause this could be confusing for you.
Anyhow, I'd like to draw attention to the two sects tenets for their codes:
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
(There is no chaos, there is harmony.)(*)
There is no death, there is the Force.
Usually the fourth line is omitted, I assume because it's clearly not true.
Now let's look at the Sith's code:
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
      Through passion, I gain strength.
      Through strength, I gain power.
      Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
      The Force shall free me.
      They are both different and yet the same would you not agree. The problem I have with the Jedi is that they try to suppress their nature; they call for no family ties, no sexual relationships, etc;
The problem with the Sith is quite obvious, they are totalitarian and they are ruthless.
Yet the Jedi nearly wiped out the Sith race entirely, for you see the Sith was not simply the antithesis of the Jedi originally they were a race of beings. The Jedi nearly drove them to extinction because they believed them to be irredeemable. But the Sith were only acting upon natural laws, that is to say the weak serve the strong and the strong dominate the weak.
This is revealed as a cruel fact of nature; the lion doesn't feel pity for the gazelle they eat and kill and the strong or better yet the most adaptable survives.
The Jedi remind me of religious fanatics while the Sith are more like the symbolic representation of the harsh realities of life.
You might say I'm reading too much into this but the fact is our fictions are a reflection of our realities. Both Jedi and Sith alike have done evil things, both have an oppressive order, and both toe the line beween light and dark.
      What are your thoughts?

The line of thinking "only the strong survive" is obsolete to humans and those who think like humans. Why enslave when we can help? We don't need to kill just because lions do.
I still feel the Jedi as good guys because they tried to keep the peace as best they could, but couldn't be good the entire time. Such as when they sided with the Huk over the Kaleesh. But the Sith are still much, much more evil. Palpatine is incarnation of the Dark Side and look at what he did. It is better to suppress that than exploit it.

It's only obsolete because we are insane for lack of a better term. Why should the weak (not the unfortunate but the weak, rich people are usually weak individuals who got the luck of the draw at birth for instance) be allowed to rule. Fact is weak men rule most nations. They aren't the most intelligent nor the most physically fit, they're just the most deceitful and coercive.

I don't care much for star wars but the points you discussed are universal. It sounds very much like that, I like this.

Re: Who are the real villains in Star Wars?

i also love star wars but the way is see that. neither the sith or the jedi are good. there is always balance in life. a sith lord will always be a jedi first. shadows come from the lights, there for if there is jedi, there will always be a sith. if darkness take over, eventully light will come out to shine over the shadow. vice versa.

i never really read much books because they are not writen my Lucas and now i dispise Lucas for selling the francise to Disney.
Starwars was an adult like story to show the difference between good or bad, but im sure Disney gonna mess it up by telling fairy tale.

Anakin was the one who brought balance to the force. Luke couldnt kill lord Sidious (Palapatine) but Anakin was able to.

and to answer your you toughts about it, i belive the only peacefull race in StarWars universe is the one in Clone wars Cartoon is the one who doesn't want to kill to bring peace. i don't remember what episode it was

i belive people should not conquer but you have the right to defend yourself.

its not the cult its the people Upon his own ascension to Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vectivus retained the principles and ethical standing of his previous existence. With that foundation he avoided the trappings of the Sith who preceded him; he was never motivated by galactic domination or an all-consuming hatred of the Jedi, and he instead chose to live the remainder of his days luxuriously in the company of his loved ones. However, Vectivus was still a ruthless individual, partly connected to his background as a businessman, and was willing to do whatever it took to succeed, a trait he promoted in others as well.

The Sith and the Jedi were always two extremes on opposite sides of the spectrum.

The Jedi were peacekeepers across the galaxy, but yes, it's true, they would always throw their morals aside when it came to the Sith.

The real villains? Well it'd have to be the Sith since they were the ones doing the antagonizing. Especially in the original trilogy, seeing as all the Jedi were doing was trying to free the people under a dictatorship.

The only true villain in star wars is Jar Jar Binks. He is the most horrific creation in the history of science fiction.

Every religion is symbolic of astrotheology, therefore since Star Wars borrows from religious mythology then by default it is symbolic of astrotheology. It's only that way by association.
BTW, I've done research on all religions since I was 12 I know all of Jordan Maxwells work. Have you read a Pale Horse?
I don't care what they say though that BS doesn't scare me, I'm an atheist so I tend to lean towards rational thinking and not superstition no matter who presents it.

You said it yourself. Star Wars is infused with symbolism regarding to astrotheology.

That socialist ideology of the dark side can be traced back to real life issues.

I somehow felt this pic collided with this thread

Re: Who are the real villains in Star Wars?

The concept of Star Wars was that of there being balance in The Force. The Sith represent personal gain and a self-centered existence - where one forcibly subjects others for his or her own gain. The "dark side" of the force is often portrayed to be just that - acting in a selfish and self-serving manner.

The Jedi represent the opposite - a selfless devotion that all but erases one's individuality.

In some sense, the Jedi are the defacto good-guys, as they care about the balance of the force and submit to the concept of being guided by "the force." Without the Jedi (or someone else 'following the call of the force') - there would be only Sith.

But the balance requires there to be selfish ambition as part of it. It's a sort of Yin and Yang concept; or it could also be looked at as a sort of 'Turbulence Theory' - drawing a parallel to physics where fluids (or gasses) with imbalanced heating will become turbulent with certain regions having much higher energy densities than others (causing exchanges of energy between these imbalanced regions that, in planetary environments, results in thunderstorms). An active and healthy system will have conflict that arises from the differences in ideologies.

Yes, Yes, exactly! Just look at Jason Solo (the son of Leia and Han in the later versions of the books), he became a sith named Darth Ceadus and brought true balance back to the force. He only became a Sith because it was necessary for the galaxy, for without the Sith the government was quick to try to turn on the Jedi order.
      Best answer, + Rep.

Re: Who are the real villains in Star Wars?

You should read The Alchemyst by Michael Scott. He combines the legend of the noted alchemist Nicholas Flamel and his wife with a lot of mythology. He even as two villains that are supposed to be Dr. John Dee and Nichalo Machieveli. It's an awesome series.
