I like it better but i dont think it was real. the creator didnt even wanna write the buu saga but the network forced him so he really wanted it to end with supersayan 2 and gohan being the new protector of earth

honestly the black hair looked cool but it was sort of a random change .. it didnt meet the theme that the super saiyan stages went through.. the pic the OP posted actually looks pretty awesome... shame the original creator didnt carry on ... GT made gohan look so weak -.- ....

The power rate in Dragon ball Z/GT is this:
Main Character who has finished training or shown a new power> New villain>Other Main Characters with Saiyan blood> Old villains> Krillin/Yamcha

Well I can see why they changed it. Too much gold. It looks good, but can you imagine how that would look on TV? I mean, the "original" (because there is no real proof this is anything more than fan art) is just different due to the color of his torso and longer hair, everything else is the same. So it all boiled down to them not wanting to have so much gold IF, and I mean IF, this is even the real picture.

I always lol'd at the fact that you'd get your eyebrows back going from SSJ3 to SSJ4. Never understood it.

I didnt watch GT for very long
It was very shitty
Even in the Buu Saga the powerlevels were too crazy,super saiyans evreywhere (even still it was my favorite saga)
Also Gohan went through all that trouble to get stronger and in the end he didnt do shit

Technically ss4 was canon even if gt wasnt. Toriyama did the designs for the characters and transformations.

The real SSJ4 looks better but the made up SSJ4 looks more like a SSJ4 to me because it retains the long golden hair. The real SSJ4 looks cool but it doesn't fit as a Super Saiyan transformation with no golden hair and no green-blue eyes. It just looks bad as SSJ transformation. It would be nice if it was a new level but as a Super Saiyan it just stands out.
And I thought the GT power levels were weird too, They made a lot of the old (DB & GT) characters look weak and they made Pan look so powerful. I was just confused.

Power levels were only introduced to show how meaningless it was to gauge someone on their power level. I mean look at the Namek Arc, it was nothing but misjudgment of people on their power level. It happened to Vegeta thrice, fist with Cui, then Dodori and finally Zarbon. Not to mention how many times Goku and Gohan were underestimated due to power level.

In short, power levels are bullshit.

lol i agree, i also didn't like GT that much. but your right about the SS4 and it doesn't even look that strong (looks silly), i mean when you look at goku going SS3 (all the powering up to transform) and then you see this :
