Obito has always been following Madara's dream for peace. He's been listening to Madara and acting as his hands ever since he was a kid, and he was the only one who knew about it. He created Akatsuki to fulfill Madara's dream.

Therefore, technically, since Obito is Madara's apprentice and a believer in his ideals, and he created Akatsuki just for Madara, Madara owns Akatsuki. He wouldn't be literally a leader of it as much as he would be a "spiritual" leader of Akatsuki.

Not that it matters since Madara has been dead since before Akatsuki was even born, but it's still true.

Well tobi was always the clown/dumb ass in akatsuki for the begining and was shown rarely u dnt really notice his moves at all since they show all the members b4 him but pain, when I first read the story I thought he was out for himself making secret plans outside groups knowledge so he might hav played down being the creator....madara tells him to create akatsuki and manipulate nagato, so whys it far fetch that if she thought the eyes were his they didnt know obitos true intentions and might hav formd akatsuki after his friend dies and is leader, obito helps get ppl and act as a secret cofi do nt.... when he talkd to nagato u nvr see him with other mebers except her, she is fonding member and has spemt extensive timw with obito and still was unaware he wasas strong as he is

bullshit. Madara was dead at that time, he wasn't owning anything. It was never said that Madara wanted Obito to create any organisation. He just wanted him to befriend and keep Nagato on a leash so he would revive him later.

Madara was dead by the time Obito became leader of Akatsuki, he wasn't acting on orders to form the organization for Madara, he was just acting on orders to collect the Bijiuu so there is no reason to believe Madara owns Akatsuki..especially since he doesn't know what it is.

he actually didnt create the akatsuki. he just used them to get the tailed beast to complete the eye of the moon plan. but i get your point. madara was the actual leader of the akatsuki. you have a very good point
