[Discussion] Do You Have Faith in God (if so...then why??)

Lately I've been going through a period in my life where everything has been complete despair...I smile very seldomly and everyone around me seems to be turning the other cheek. I recently started wondering about God and stories I've heard like " God has worked miracles for me while I was down and out...u just have to believe"..you know...the cliche stuff. But it's kinda like telling a kid "hey santa clause is comin to town" and in their mind...its reality. When people are sick to the point will medical attention is needed...u have people who say "god will get u through it" but is it God?? Or is it the doctors and the meds?? In no way am I trying to insult anyone's religon...matter of fact my family are full of christians with very strongg faith in God... But recently... I have a hard time believing the hype... If He does exist then why do so many good people suffer EVERYDAY?? If he can work miracles...why do people still have to suffer.... Innocent people get brutally murdered everyday. Natural disasters take the lives of good souls..... Maybe I'm just looking at it selfishly because my life is shit right now and I'm being negative...but what r ur thoughts? Do u believe in him or do u think its all a fairy tale?

Ps. I'd appreciate it if I got real answers...not something like " he doesn't. Exist...get over it". Also if u had any experience with the Lord himself....please share with me...thank you

IV asked myself the same question sometimes if God really exists or is it just a made up figure to give the people hope. We will never know exactly.. God shouldn't be based on a religion he is what u think of him u shouldn't have to follow some book that was written by some men thousands of years ago... that's how I view it..

Imo God is just a spiritual figure, which gives the feel of a supreme being above us which puts us under continuous illusion that someone watches over us and protects us from harm.

So, imo, God is an illusion created by wandering human mind to have a belief, an anchoring to life.

You can believe God or not. But you gotta agree some mind's influence on its own body.

So, even if you fall ill, I would recommend you to go to a doctor for help, rather than praying all day.
Of course prayer hence belief in God might strengthen your mind which again might give you a feel of well being.

If you attribute certain incidents like escaping an accident by a hair, to an act of God, I think its nothing but your mind attributing that incident to an unknown, uncomprehensible power, other words, The God.

k k serious answer: You guys can't even comprehend the concept of god, so you relate it to some happenings. Ofcourse there's a god/prime creator, I just don't like to use that word since I dislike people who do...since they know squat about it's concept.

there is no proof of anything either way, confirming his existence or not if people say he exist or doesn't exist, normally a biast opinion being agnostic is the most sensible choice.

Yes I do, and have you heard of this guy named the devil? I'm sorry for you for doubting, Science can't explain everything(they try but we all no it BS and assuming) the belief in God is greater than you'll ever know.

yes. But mainstream science is corrupt. They ignore spirituality. Which is the door to higher levels of understanding our reality.
Luckily there are scientists who approve of spirituality, combining science with spirit.

I have no reason to really believe in the big bang theory. And i have even less of a reason to believe in god. As far as i see religion was made up to oppress the poor and feed the rich. (A long time ago of course)

The reason good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people is because this is not paradise.
As a muslim, I believe that the world is governed by god, and all the things that happen have a reasob. You say that you haven't done anything to deserve misery, but these struggles, to me, are trials from God to test your patience and faith in him. I have a strong belief in God's existence and the science behind his wisdom. If you genuienly want god's help, sincerly bow down and ask him to guide you.

I been to bible school and have been drug across state to see Joel Osteen when i was younger and the like if your a christian you know him from TBN.My opinions on religion has stemmed from much involvement with the church when i was younger.It is up to you to decide what to place your faith in whether that be god,a loved one or yourself for that matter.I personally believe in no god.The "truth" in my opinion is a fabrication of the reality we chose to create for ourselves.(philosophically speaking) Do good by others and to yourself that is all one can do in this world for it not to turn to shit.
