Pokemon X and Y

Not sure if you guys knew this or not, but they've recently released info on the newest Pokemon games: X and Y. No I'm not joking, it's seriously X and Y, and I can guarantee that the third game which will come out probably two months later will be Z. Now don't get the wrong idea, I still love Pokemon, I don't play it anymore but I still love my childhood game. The problem that I have with the game is the newest legendaries and starters.



Yes, those are the starters. As far as I could find, they don't have confirmed dual types for their evolutions yet, but I'm sure they will be pretty obvious.

The Grass-type is Chespin, and it looks like they put a chipmunk with an otter and put a hat on it. That's all I have to say on it. The Fire type is Fennekin and it looks a lot like a fox. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but didn;t we already have a fire-type that looked like a fox?


No? I can't remember.

And then there's Froakie, the water frog. Now I know we've already had a few frog-looking pokemon (Politoad, Croagunk) but I'd still probably end up taking this one out of nostalgia.

Now I will say that the legendaries are really the issue I have with the newest games. First here is Y's legendary:



Now it's name is Yveltal, and I can't pronounce it to save my life. It looks like an eagle or a hawk of some kind. But you know that's ok, because we definitely haven't had any bird legendaries. . .





But no, the one that takes the cake for me, that I actually found myself questioning the rationale of the minds of Pokemon was the legendary for X, this. . .THING:



WHAT THE- WHAT IS THIS?! IT'S GOT GEMS IN IT'S STUPID ANTLERS!

*Pants* Ok sorry about that, it's name is Xerneas and that's about the only thing it's got going for it right now for me. I really just want to know what they could make after this monstrosity that could possibly make them think "Yea, that was bad but wait till you see what's next!"

I know a lot of you are probably not into Pokemon anymore, but for those of you that are: What do you think? Will you buy it? Will you preorder it? Or will you stand in anger with me as I protest a deer being a legendary? Comment below, let me know! :D

i was thinking about getting a new pokemon game as i haven't had one since gold and silver i don't think can't remember myself.
i have seen a few of the program's so that's how i know what the pokemon look like and that.

for the first time since Treecko i might go for Grass starter, because that water one is pure awfulness and that Fire one, i don't know, i don't know, depends if the final one will be pure Fire or smthing else

but to be honest, i just love Xerneas because he is pure awesomness, i don't know what people have against these guys, the water starter is awful i agree, but the other ones are fine, but GOD that Xerneas is PURE BADASNESS, seriously, can't believe you got something against him

I've been a Pokemon fan all my life and I love the new games and new generation. My problem is that most of the people above just go by looks and end it there. Have you ever played Black or white. The story is amazing and well are some what geared to the older audience if you can read between the lines. I thought I was done with pokemon at Shinnoh but I tried it out and had fun with it. So I ask have any of you tried the new games? Or are you just judging a book by its cover.

I remember when pokemon were inspired by actual animals.Now there just creatures with no anatomy based on real life creatures.
I mean whatever works and gets them money and kudos to whoever finds the games appealing still.I take no joy in bashing games i use to like it just makes me a bit sad is all.The creativity of the first two generations all are gone.

I did not get to play Black and White, though I read the plot on Wikipedia and it sounds awesome. My DS broke before I got to play and never wanted to spend the money to get back into it. I am judging the book by it's cover and I hate myself for it, but it's all I can go off until a plot synopsis is released.

Also why would they add another water frog when they JUST made Palpitoad tympole etc? The logic is beyond me.

yeah man i love black and white there is soooooooooooooo much to do you get to a town there is something to do story wise unlike the older games and black and white 2 they where top notch as well especially getting a riolu near the start and it being wild

yes i agree, i was well, full of doubt when Black & White came out, i found some that i really like, Samurott and his whole evolution line and Crustle, god how i love Crustle, my TOP 6 Fav ones for sure

...one does not simply not love Blaziken when you look at these starters 2 out of 3 are based of an animal and from legendaries 50% we know of are based of real animal, just sayin

i agree about that Palpitoad thing note. Samurott isn't really bulky, just sayin bulky one from those starters was Emboar (whatever his spelling is )

In offering my own opinion, I carry no affinity nor attraction towards Pokemon X and Y, if any nostalgia of pokemon at all for that matter. The series for me has been going nowhere for many years, and survives on the simple concept of preying upon youthful emotional value and fantasy(this pertains to the entire concept of pokemon and includes several other series as well. I am not simply bashing pokemon alone), nothing more. The Anime series in my opinion is absolutely flawless in how distasteful and terrible it is, though I shall not label it as an abomination as others do. The games had originally been quite riveting and fun despite the ultimate failure in contextual and relevant logic(more of them due to limited programming and mechanics errors than anything. And I am not complaining about that actually. Pokemon logic is one of my favorite parts of it.) up until the third generation(my favorite out of all.) with the Hoenn region. Afterwards, there had been nothing occurring but a downward spiral into oblivion(which is likely where one of the next illogical legendaries shall come from as The King of Hell), I could not believe and stand the poor ideology created in order to justify the tempering of physics, these pertaining to Palkia, Dialga, Darkrai, Giratina, and who else but all mighty failure Arceus. Palkia supposedly being meant to represent space, Dialga as Time(what happened to the illogical ability of Celebi's time travel? I understand anime and these cartoons care little for rationality, but there is a line to be drawn.), Darkrai to represent dark matter(a controversial idea in which we do not yet fully understand, and yet they pounced it. We have barely come to understand that dark matter carries in an unbelievably strong force of gravity and despite its unbelievable amount of attraction and repel, it carries no tangible substance.), Giratina to respresent Anti matter(BS, he would have LITERALLY WIPED OUT most, if not all, of the earth as soon as he came into existence due to the symmetrical reaction between matter and antimatter. I call absolute BS). And Arceus, if I truly require an explanation as to why it is the biggest ideological failure I have seen Gamefreak create then that is sad as he is supposedly designed to represent "God", not hierarchical, ancestral being or predecessor to all pokemon, he is supposed to be "God". If anything, Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum for me were simply the ones that carried greatest abundancy of hack and editing to goof around with, rather than an enjoyable concept and gameplay, excluding mining[why do I like mining in the game so much :?]

Aside from the ranting, I apologize, I still enjoy pokemon for some of the fan based ideas[emphasis on "some"] and perhaps sheerly for its artwork if nothing more, and in that I enjoy some of the designs from 4th, 5th and 6th generations, however. I have never played black and white[and their sequels] and no longer have the time to do so and shall not plan on playing X or Y or any new ones to succeed them in that, my taste has bittered over the years sadly. Though I am well in agreement with a remake of the 3rd generation games as they did with the 2nd generation.
