I just thought about this why in the world did edo itachi go blind in his left eye I never understood. I thought edo could heal and have infinite chakra. So I don't understand how it was gone after using izanami. I know I'm late on this question. But could tell me if I missed something.

I understand you go blind after using it but it should of healed beacuse of edo.

Edo heals injuries, his eye going blind was more like a seal not an injury.

his eye may have been sealed or damaged in the battle with kabuto. who knows??

The edo tensei is still affected by the side effects or weaknesses such as Itachi's eye bleeding from Amaterasu, hanzo's poison sac, second mizukage's technique. The eye becomes blind because Izanami removes the light from the user's eye, so not actually an injury.

If you use Izanami,your eye goes blind,either you are Edo or not.
