      You asked why are they called Hidden?

      That's because they are like hidden by the thing they are named after:

      Hidden Leaf - there are forests all around it.

      Hidden Sand - it's in the middle of the desert.

      Hidden Rock - the whole village is made out of rocks.

      Hidden Mist - there is always a mist.

      Hidden Cloud - it's up in the clouds.
