What Happened to Gaara's Student?

I actually started reading the manga sometime during the Shippuden (can't recall when). Before then, I got all my information from the anime. I remember in the anime, after Gaara had a change of heart, he had a student.

It says that she was last seen n the anime... but does she actually make an appearances in the manga at all (besides her apparent appearance in manga chapter #280)?

I think she was seen in the war, helping fight against the Edo Kages in the desert.
I'd presume she's on the front-line fighting the Juubi by now.
