[Theory] Naruto, Rikudo's Reincarnation

Minato named his child Naruto after the protagonist in Jiraya's book. The fictional ninja was looking for unconditional peace. By doing this Minato reveals that he intends for Naruto to achieve peace in the world.

He chose Jiraya as Naruto's godfather hoping that Jiraya would bring up Naruto with the right values and the desire for peace. Minato achieved this, all right. It's Naruto's main ambition.

But Minato had more in mind. He left insane amounts of power to Naruto knowing that love doesn't suffice to achieve peace, a ninja needs the power to enforce peace as well. I believe that Minato knew the story of Rikudo Sennin, probably from Jiraya. He wanted to make Naruto Rikudo's reincarnation.

To start off with this theory, Minato gave Naruto the Kyuubi's yang chakra. Here, I'd like to show you what yin & yang actually mean in Naruto.

According to the manga chakra consists os spiritual and physical energy.

We can see the diagramm in two halves of yin & yang. So physical energy is either the often mentioned yang-ish chakra or yin-ish chakra. I took a chart on yin & yang to decide which is which. But Kishimoto too talks about this in the manga, during the Chuunin exams.

Returning to my original point Minato gave Naruto Kyuubi's spiritual energy, it's yang chakra. I'll be getting back to that later. First I want to explain a yin & yang effect that is relevant to Naruto's chakra.

When Minato mixed Kyuubi's yang chakra into Naruto's he forced Naruto's chakra to accommodate to Kyuubi's. Kyuubi's yang chakra makes Naruto's turn yin-ish, a stong physical chakra.

Minato had more in mind than just changing Naruto's chakra although that is a large part of the plan. Minato had a contract with the frogs and it's extremely likely that he learned sage mode, according to Fukasaku's statement. Minato knew that Jiraya would take Naruto as his apprentice since Jiraya's his godfather and Naruto would eventually be taught in Sage mode.

Sage mode is a fascinating specialty which the frogs teach to single outstanding ninjas. During Naruto's training with the frogs he awakens Sage mode.

He sucks the natural energy surrounding him close to his body. On top of that a fire within his chest starts burning stronger.

Sage and Sennin are the same word in Japanese. So Sage mode means Sennin mode. During Sage mode Naruto mimics the Sennin's body.

Do you see the white stuff around the younger brother's body? It's the same as in Sage mode.

With these components: Naruto's yin-ish chakra (spiritual energy), Sage mode, the will of fire (=The Sennin's heart=The fire in Naruto's chest), and Jiraya's morals (Love and a longing for peace) Minato has ensured that Naruto receives the younger brother's abilities.

Here I'd like to interrupt for some background information. You can skip this without missing anything on the theory.

The fights that Madara called destined fights between Uchiha and Senju were all fights dominated by Kishimoto's fetish for yin and yang.

This begins with the Sage's sons. The older was known for his spiritual energy, the younger for his physical energy. One for his inner chakras, the other for his body... This is yin, physical and yang, spiritual.

The Uchiha/Senju fight after than is between Madara and Hashirama. They fought over Kyuubi, Madara with his MS-genjutsu (Yang chakra) and Hashirama with Mokutun ninjutsu (Yin chakra.) Again, it's a physical and a spiritual fight about yin and yang.

Then at the end of part 1 Naruto and Sasuke have their first fight. This is one of the title pages during there fight. Youu will definitely remember black Chidori vs white Kyuubi rasengan.

We all know that there's going to be a second fight between Naruto and Sasuke. Again it's going to be about yin and yang. I assume that Kishimoto is going to emphasize this theory in that fight so we can consider it an early confirmation.

Naruto will become very similar to the younger brother. He will use: Sage mode, his will of fire to never give up and love. That will be the younger brother part of him fighting but during the fight I believe that he will awaken Kyuubi Sage mode, a large part the older brother's abilities but it would symbolize Naruto's and Sasuke's fusing.

Sasuke on the other hand will be using the older brother's abilities, the power of his eyes, his MS, the strong chakras, Enton and dark chidori, the power of hatred and his cold mental yang-ish chakra.

But we know that Naruto's story doesn't end with a fight against Sasuke. Naruto's journey doesn't end here. And Minato's plan definitely doesn't end with Naruto only gaining half of Rikudo's powers...

Minato also wanted Naruto to gain the powers of the older son. He knew that Naruto had the potential to gain the power, specifically the eyes. Here is a cleaned version of the older brother.

The older brother has a spiral in his eyes. That's his doujutsu.

Introducing this, I have to go around a corner again. I'll be talking about Madara for the next couple minutes.

This picture and common logic suggest that several different clans descended from the brothers, not only Uchiha and Senju. As Madara said in all the coming clans the bloodlines thinned and the former abilities lessened.

We know for a fact that the Uchiha-clan descended from the older brother and they lost the great powers of the eye. Instead of Rikudo's eye they have a normal eye that must be activated to get any special abilities. Beyond that they have an average chakra until they activate the MS... Then, a couple of the Uchihas can achieve former glory.

There are more descendants of that brother. I believe that the Uzumaki-clan originates from the older brother. They chose the spiral as their clan sign to show that they have inherited Rikudo's eyes.

The Uzumaki clan still has the older brother's genes necessary to awaken the eye. The reason they aren't all walking around with Rikudo's eyes is that no one has the necessary amounts of yang chakra (spiritual energy) to awaken them like the older brother did.

Minato knew that the Uzumaki-clan had this potential and decided to awaken this ability in Naruto. When Naruto learns how to fully integrate Kyuubi's yang chakra then he will unlock Rikudo's eyes.

At a matter of fact Kishimoto hides a hint during the Naruto vs Pain arc.

Can you see the eye? When Naruto opens his body to Kyuubi he will gain the eye.

This was Minato's plan. Naruo doesn't belong to Senju or Uchiha, he belongs to both, incarnating what Rikudo used to be, a link between the clans. With love, morals and the necessary power he is able to enforce peace on the shinobi-world.
