What's with all the hate on Minato?

I have been reading some forum's lately and most of them are ether bashing minato or saying how minato suck's compared to itachi or saying minato is useless, i know he is overrated but i mean you guys make it sound like he is the worst character ever in naruto. minato is not useless he is one of the strongest shinobi's there is and my favorites, some one gotta stand up for him and i well.

minato is one of my favorites also. Itachi has more fan-boys since he has had a lot more screen time (I'm also a fan of Itachi, so no hard feelings to either one)

Minato is a respectable character. Minato fanboys aren't. Hey, just don't ridiculously overrate him and everything should be fine.
Minato vs Itachi is a reasonable match-up.

We have only seen Minato in 1 fight (A/B)

Personally, I only care about the animation of the fights that can raise your heartbeat and give you goosebumps.
I don't give 2 cents for who's stronger..Sakura's fight vs Sasori was amazing, although she's boring throughout the series. The well animated fights that last atleast 1 full episode is why I still keep watching Naruto. Haven't seen one those episodes in a while though

It's because he has shown the potential to defeat characters like A or Obito with only FTG and Rasengan.

I dont understand why or how anyone could hate the man that gave the main character a fighting chance at greatness, and sacrificed himself in order to keep the Village we all know and love safe... without him, there would be no Itachi, naruto, sasuke and gave Hiruzen a chance to live for 12 more years. I feel like the fanboys just tarnish his contributions to the manga, with their silly threads

Because his character has limited screen time, so fans compensate, and argue that Hiraishin is is more hax than it actually is. In reality, Hiraishin is essentially equivalent to one Mangekyō jutsu. But you'll see Minato being argued to defeat characters with much, much more versatility and power in terms of feats on the basis of only his speed because that's the only way he can be argued. It's essentially the infamous genjutsu GG argument ad nauseum.

Dark hair, Sharingan in both eyes, sexy voice and an attitude that clearly says IDGAF... People just love that. The bad boys with dark pasts and personalitites are always deemed more complex than characters like Naruto or Minato, because these two are walking sunshines and are kind and caring. Let's face it. Whenever there is a smiling Minato/Naruto saving the world, people will always say: "Yeah, you go ahead and do what you must, let me spend more time with Sasuke/Itachi". Because apparently, IDGAF attitude is way too badass. This works especially with girls. Ain't it?

But I think Minato and Naruto are cool and complex on their own, and just because they are nice guys, people tend to underrate them. It's relieving that lately, more people have opened up to Minato and his son...

That and Fanboys. Fanboys should die.
