Has Kakashi possibly read the Rikudou's tablet?

In another thread, I was discussing that Jiraiya would likely have a counter/know how to combat the Mangekyo Sharingan's genjutsu capabilities due to the fact that Kakashi had encountered it, developed a counter for it, and likely taught it to Jiraiya as Jiraiya was the one who would be protecting Naruto from Itachi.

Owarij, as intelligent as he always is, debunked this by pointing out Jiraiya never taught Naruto on how to combat it, he only taught him how to dispel basic genjutsu. It would seem extremely unlikely that he wouldn't have taught Naruto if Kakashi shared the information with him.

We can confirm Naruto doesn't know of the way to combat it by him being surprised once Kakashi points out not to look in to Itachi's eyes, as well as asking Chiyo for advice on how to fight a sharingan user.

So, what does this have to do with Kakashi having read Rikudou's tablet? Well, I had assumed that Jiraiya is where Kakashi got his knowledge of amaterasu, as he states he's never seen it before. It would seem to have been the most logical answer.

But with the doubt that Owarij pointed out that Jiraiya and Kakashi discussed their encounters with Itachi, it begs the question..how does Kakashi know of amaterasu? Even if Jiraiya and Kakashi did discuss the encounters, and for whatever weird reason he didn't teach Naruto how to combat the sharingan, how did they(or Jiraiya or Kakashi by themselves) figure out it was called amaterasu?

The first time we see amaterasu is here, and we learn of it's name is after Itachi and Kisame run away from Jiraiya here.

This could also be how Kakashi learned of how the mangekyo sharingan is activated(given against Itachi in part 1, he first learned about the Mangekyo Sharingan actually existing), and given that he experienced something so tragic in his killing of Rin, he figured he may have unlocked it already(which he had, but apparently just wasn't aware of it, or the other possibility being he just didn't have the control of the sharingan/the chakra reserves to pull it off, but given his encounter with Itachi, the safe bet is he didn't actually know it existed).

Is this a goof by Kishi or will he reveal that Kakashi has read the tablet?

Its possible that kakashi read the tablet however what he could read would be limit because of the eyes he wields. However there is a massive misconception concerning the tablet which ill later state. Ill pm you this because im saving it.

But at the same time, Jiraiya sealed amaterasu. Surely he would've done more research about this technique because its a technique that baffled him so much so that he broke a sweat [1]. Jiraiya clearly didn't know its name. Perhaps after research and some cross checks with kakashi did kakashi gain what it was.

Funny enough Kakashi, but also Danzo recognise susano, which i still do not understand. Imo sometimes kishi just allows a character to give info to the reader without thinking how that affects the story.

Yeah that's why I'd guessed that Jiraiya told Kakashi about it after research or whatever. It would be hard to figure out where Jiraiya would discover the name/more information about the technique though, but he was capable of so much in regards to intel, I wouldn't doubt him. It just would beg the question if Kakashi shared information as well, why Jiraiya wouldn't pass it on to Naruto.

Kakashi knows about amaterasu despite no one having told him(that we can tell), so the only logical explanation is him reading the tablet.

I can only assume that Kakashi already had knowledge regarding the legend of Amaterasu, and when combined with the information Jiraiya had gathered, this is what allowed him to deduce that the black flames he saw were indeed the Amaterasu. Now, where Kakashi got this information from is anyone's best guess. Perhaps it was from the Uchiha tablet or perhaps it was from some other source he used when researching the Sharingan and/or the potential/limits of his power.

About amaterasu] there is always a possibility that Jirayia learned the details of the technique from the elders.They didn't have good relations I know,but they were around when the Uchiha clan was still in their prime.Danzo was keeping a close eye to the Uchihas and the elders had good relations with Danzo.So Jiraiyas knowledge might came from consulting the elderd and then he told Kakashi
It's not impossible that the elders knew and other details about MS.Danzo was close to Itachi and took Shisui eye.Sure he had very good knowledge about the sharingan.And I believe since Itachi made his appearence to the village they were willing to share informations with Jiraiya since he was Narutos guardian in a way and with Kakashi who was his sensei.
But your theory is plausable too,I really liked it.

There are a few diff ways as to how he may have known about it.. One, as you stated in the op, it's possibly he found and read the naka shrine tablet.. We still don't know in detail what's on that tablet, so it may have some details about MS abiltiies.
If it does have these details, then It wouldn't be available for the normal 3 tomoe eye to read..As sasuke would have known about the three jutsu as well... Considering even after seeing tsukyomi and amaterasu, he didn't know Itachi has Susanno as a last resort...

Thing is, from part 1, Kakashi at least had knowledge on mangekyou sharingan.. he immediately knew what Itachi was referring to when he asked the question as to the true reason the Uchiha clan was feared as the strongest.. But it's clear that at this time, he had no knowledge of what Itachi's abilities was, nor what Tsukyomi was capable of..

From the way the databook writes about amaterasu, and the way zetsu talked about it.. it seems there are accounts of other people, or at least another person using it before.... It is very much possible that Jiraya, after seeing unknown black flames, showed them to kakashi.. and they could possibly have did research on it.. We also have to remember that by this time in part 2, Itachi's abilities seemed to be public knowledge... as Shee stated

So we also have the possibility that Kakashi , like shee, simply came aware of what Itachi can do.. Because like shee He actually never saw them being used before.. thus the "is that susanno?" etc...
