Just a "what if" scenario for you. ^^

Yes, after Earth gets obliterated by whatever major event and during your life expectancy you just so happen to see it's demise, where would you wanna live?

For me, I've always wanted to live in a space colony and float in a zero gravity room! Also, I believe this is the smartest idea of them all. The government could fund this project as a long term one. Plus, these space colonies could house all of us earthlings, and no one has to suffer ever again from poor living conditions.

Also a side note. The entire Earth is being destroyed, and we know damn good and well that not one single nation has the technology to get all of our butts in space immediately. This would be a perfect opportunity for every country to join forces so we can make this happen.

The problem with a space colony is zero gravity, humans are not designed to stay in space for long periods of time it causes loss of bone matter and other biological issues. Nevertheless if we were going to set up a space colony I doubt it would be fully man made, the most likely scenario would be to capture an asteroid and put it into Earth's orbit and build inside of it.

At this current time China is on the way to be the first taking space frontier now that US has mostly given up on their space program so you better start learning Chinese.

The Earth has been here for millions of years and it will be here for millions of years to come. If we dropped every nuke we have the earth will eventually return to its natural state. We do not have the power to destroy the planet stop worrying.

The world is too much "is there a profit in it?" and not enough "We need to advance for the future". Hardly no country has the time to bother with space programs because it just doesn't seem profitable. If we want to advance into space the best solution would be to have a massive cold war because that is when countries like to boast so they invest a lot into research and development.

Our race was born with the ability to imagine, to create, to learn and to explore. Unique to every species that has ever walked this planet and it scares me to think there are people out there who want to close the doors on this.

If the world is around by then, and other species are alot more likely to do things differently, just look at us now. We're the most dangerous species on the planet and the most self-destructive aswell. We're apparently the most intelligent but definitely not the wisest.

Well, as a Christian I have 100% faith that this world won't be gone until God takes out the whole Universe with fire, but we can still discuss as a what if ^_^

I'd... I'd.... I'd start Project-Rebuild-The-Earth! The Earth happens to be so perfect in so many ways, that life couldn't be supported on anything else, not even as close as the moon. (I also am confident of this because the Bible states that only the Earth is made for man, but anyway the evidence for Earth's perfection is overwhelming, there's nothing 10% like it that we've found yet, of that I'm confident.). SO, our only chance is getting the Earth back together! That's what I'd advocate ^_^

And if that wasn't possible, despite the fact it's far more possible than the other options, than I'd probably start project-die. It's what would happen lol. For man's last days, we should build giant robots from the scrap, and fight. It's the end anyway, so why not Optimus Prime vs Mega XLR?
