does kurama know he can be controlled ? it seems like he doesnt know or atleast doesnt want to admit it

Of course he knows. That why he said to naruto that he would rather give him (naruto) chakra then be controlled by Madara. He has been controlled twice now, he would be pretty dumb if he didn't know.

I think its more like a genjutsu thing (Kurama can snap Naruto out of it, if he gets cut in it), therefore, if Kurama is caught, Naruto can snap him out of it.
