Do you deserve it ?

The current thread in the hottest section about heaven and hell and all dat' stuff started to make me wonder, a bit, if we assume that heaven is real, how many people actually deserve to go there ? I mean, sure, some people think that just being good is enough to get there, but how good do you have to be ?

Is it enough just to help other people from time to time ? Or is it maybe necessary to follow the laws of the bible to the most utter limit ?

What's you're opinion on this ? Do you consider yourself to be worthy of access into paradise ?

Please don't flame anyone here, if you don't believe in God and heaven and such (I personally don't) it's not a reason to start a flame war. Just answer this instead, do you consider yourself to be a good person ?

we are only human... therefore we are capable of both good and bad... its how we percieve these things aswell

i personally would say im a rather kind and helpful person... however i know there are times i can do bad things but i wouldnt consider myself 'bad'

I don't want to leave in heaven nor hell. When I die I want to die, not live in all eternity in some place I have never called home. Other people, persons I know and don't know, are the ones who should decide if I'm a good person or not.

Personally i think the bible was just a way for the governments to control people and keep them well behaved through fear of 'god', simply a method of control in an era when we didn't know any better, now with the advancement in science i can't understand why anyone would believe in heaven and hell other than fear of death.
Do i deserve to go into heaven if there is one? after what i just said, probably not but seeing as god is apparently merciful he should let me in as i'm not a murderer or anything extreme just an atheist

honestly i dont think im worthy enough to go to heaven nor to be punish eternally from hell. yes i have done bad things but i also have done good one's. and imo humans dont have what it takes to say or to judge how good is enough to be in heaven. only god knows( if he does exist )
