What sword did Sasuke use to chop down the pillars? Looked like Totsuka to me.

You're right. When I read what I wrote it looked really rude and I wanted to apologize for that, I did not intend it to be.

I think that sword is Totsuka, we could not see the gourd but we also have to note that the bottom half was not shown. Really, even in the Naruto universe it would not matter if Sasuke said it was Totsuka, people would still disbelieve it until they saw that... It's like with Madara, he states that he is Madara, we see a Sharingan, Itachi says he's Madara, Kakashi concludes and confronts him about it and he admits it, but still people are skeptical.
I was just trying to basically say, the sword looks enough like Totsuka, that it is Totsuka.

Well I'm sure that Madara can teleport within it, Zetsu can morph from right under it, Minato can teleport as well if he managed to tag Itachi before hand and Pain could use Chibaku Tensei to trap till Itachi runs out of Chakra or suffocates. It's not unbeatable.

Somebody made a really interesting case against Itachi vs. Pain in another thread. It was something like "Hi Susanoo, I'm Chibaku Tensei."
It went into theory about how Susanoo would not really be able to do much because it is not a direct attack. If Itachi gets sucked into Susanoo, then it is not doing its job guarding him from outside the ball of gravity. All Pain would have to do is sustain Chibaku Tensei while he was in there.

Yup. Pain pretty tossed the black orb way into the sky. It's questionable if Susanoo could seal that miniblack hole but it'd be out of reach regardless. We saw the range and Susanoo would look like an ant if compared side by side. Itachi has to stand on something right.
