You can find something if you look for it, Orochimaru would have. But how would you know what to look for if you've never seen it? Orochimaru was never meant to survive the Shiki Fuujin, it was only because Hiruzen had sealed two others before him and he was close to death already, him getting stabbed by the Kusanagi is what saved Orochimaru from being taken away completely.
If you've never seen the reaper, how would you know the right mask? If you hide a single mask somewhere and it's found, then that's the right one. Do you see what I mean?

The death god used in the reaper death seal wasn't created by the Uzumaki. It was always in existence from my understanding. They were able to create sealing jutsu that allowed them to temporarily control the death god and even acquire what was lost to them from the god. This shows how powerful their conceived seals where. It isn't too far-fetched to think that they could reverse the sealing of a powerful weapon like the Totsuka blade if they can control a death god. It would probably come at a hefty cost though, possibly switching places with the person sealed.

Well there is a direct connection with the Shinigami and the Shiki Fuujin, they did not create the being but they did make a sort of pact with it in order to utilize its' power, the Totsuka Blade on the other hand maybe a sealing weapon that is completely unrelated to the Uzumaki's sealing prowess.

I highly doubt it would be possible to insert a sealing technique into an inanimate object such as a mask, however if you believe this to be plausible make a thread. I'd surely reply in to it.

Minato's kunai have a sort of seal on them don't they? I could be wrong and it should be a differing type though.

Probably to notify any and all people that the amount of awesomeness in his threads is above the sugeon generals daily recommended amount and should proceed with caution.

Serious response: I know when you're on a computer if you hover your cursor over a thread it says who made it. But no such luck when on your phone, as I use my phone to access the base. So when I enter a thread info in blind to whoever or what ever is going on inside of it. Although the titles do help weed out trolls, as most troll threads are titled with references to Chatte's breasts or something of the like.

I like the ideas, sadly we are probably not going to see if any of that is true. I just don't think the story is going to come back to the rest of those masks though it would be interesting to learn what they are for

Nice job, I'll rep you for that. I think another big question that was raised by this is: How did Orchimaru know about the Uzumaki's reverse sealing masks? I mean, most, if not all of the Uzumaki's were dead (I'm pretty sure) before he started going crazy in Konoha with the experimentation and all but even if he got an uzumaki in his hands, how would he know what questions to ask? How did he even know that the place they went to existed or whether or not those masks were just for decoration?

As we know now. There was a time that the Reaper Death Seal was unrelated to the Uzumaki. It was just a jutsu.

Either way, this is all speculation.

In any case, it's impossible unless you've survived a Shiki Fuujin extraction and actually seen the Reaper which is another impossibility. But Orochimaru has established himself as the doer of the impossible. I mean the guy cheated death and getting sealed TWICE! There is no one else who could have known.

Stranger still is there is no mention of this temple before, maybe many people thought they were just ornaments and nothing more

This whole concept of removing permanent seals reminds me of "Nen" removal from hunter x hunter. Interesting, this could add a new layer of mysteries to the plot.

I don't think they "controlled" demons, just summoned them for extra power use/reverse sealing for a short period of time. But they are indeed a bad ass clan

Your first conclusion is very interesting, I wonder about just how many different sealing techniques the Uzumaki had. Why did they need so many, what do they all do? It would be very interesting to see how they're all different from each other and what each of their specific uses were, if your theory is correct.

i like your thread a lot, very interesting i was also thinking what the masks could do and your thread on it put me at ease cause i was heading the same direction with what you wrote but you completed it haha, when i say heading that direction i mean like reversal wise on the masks.
