Why does Madara need a living body?

I don't know if this has been brought up here yet, and I apologize beforehand if it has, but why is it necessary for Madara to have a living body in order to become the Juubis Jinchuuriki? All of Tobis Six Paths were edos, and they could still use the tailed beasts.

Also, as a follow up to that wouldn't Madara as a true jinchuuriki, and I say true because putting it under a genjutsu is not the same thing, wouldn't he need to defeat the Juubi in order to gain full access to it's powers? Cause from the looks of it they don't seem to have the time for that right now.

The Bijuu itself was never sealed into the Jinchuuriki, the stake bound the Bijuu's chakra to the Jins body.

He does need to fight the juubi....because he has the eternal mangekyou - he puts it under control like the kyuubi....and even if it didn´t work, he has the rinnegan like the SO6P who defeated the juubi, so it would not be a problem for him, plus the tailed beast needs a living bodyn not a zombie in order to share his energy with that of the living body - in other words the tailed beasts in edo jinjurriki were totally bound and could not reach perfect balance with their jinjuriki....

Wouldn't it be easier then to simply use the chakra rods on the Juubi and Madara? I just don't get what the big difference is between an edo and a living body in relation to being able to become a host for a tailed beast.

They can't because there is no Gedo Mazo hosting the Juubi's chakra so they can't transfer its chakra to his body like Obito did to the Jins.

But I have no idea why a living body is needed to be a Jinchuuriki.

Bijuu are made of Ten-Tail's chakra.
Jinchuriki are the host of the demon.
SO6P created the "shell" into 9 different parts, with tails.
Using the number of tails to differentiate each bijuu.
Each shell contain Ten-Tails' Chakra.
Akatsuki extracted only the bijuu's chakra, while retaining the host and shell.
If the host Jinchuriki die, the bijuu will also die.
Obito control by means of the chakra rot. Just like Pain using 'dead body' with chakra rot.
Jinchuriki are in the state of 'edo'.
So is Madara -'edo'
Madara original plan is that Nagato to revive him.
Just like when Pain revived the Leaf Village to NORMAL living body.
