Neji was THE worst though, so all that stuff about him having the strongest Byakugan and his Rematch with Lee that we were all waiting for was all BS and not needed then?

I agree with you about Neji, he had a lot of expectations and it seemed like we would see him break the clan curse and become the next leader, but once he read his father's letter it seemed like his fate was pretty much sealed. His death played out exactly like Hizashi's.

There are no better byakugans, they don't have levels of evolution like the sharingan. It all depends on the user of the doujutsu

It's not about evolution. It's simple genetics.
A real world example is the comparison of my eyesight and yours, one of us is bound to have better eyesight and this is down to genetics.

We're not complaining about the amount of people dying, more how they die and what that death achieves.
For example, Tsunade being bisected "No Katsuyu, I'm fine"

My point for Dosu is that he was given screen time for a couple of seconds before being killed and ultimately forgotten about.
A guy with a Jutsu so strong it could take down literally anyone in Naruto.
