Why A Lot People Dislike Sasuke.......

I think this might be the most biggest reason why Sasuke is my least favorite. Never liked him. He thinks that it's just so much 'oh poor him' this and 'oh poor him' that, that he totally forgets about all the good stuff around him. People are there for him and wants to befriend with him, but he ignores it. That's what made his life even more miserable.... Of course you may get emo when your family is killed but STILL can't you look around, Sasuke?

Sasuke is selfish and he does bad things, and yet he's a main character. He by far has the most complex emotions and internal conflict. That is why he is my favorite character. That doesn't mean Sasuke is actually better, or that his complexity is actually deeper than Naruto's. Obviously, personal opinions are a way to show personal views on the matter, so even if I tried to push you, you wouldn't see Naruto in the same way.

Reading the manga objectively Sasuke is an interesting character. Naruto's "never give up and I won't let my friends die attitude" would be impressive if I was in the NV, but reading the manga it is so overused and generic.

I believe you are correct. But I dislike him also as a literary character. I think his entire personality is lazy, one-dimensional, boring and totally unappealing.

He basically warps the entire plot around him (like how he escaped from Deidara), he refuses to see the good things around him, like everyone in the Leaf adoring him and handing him everything on a silver platter and his 'logic' is nonexistent. "The leadership of my home made my brother suffer so the only course of action is to kill every man, woman and child there. Even though only a handful of people actually knew about it".

Actually you are mistaken. I have personally experienced in my own how character bashing like the one people like Sasuke Fanboys do to Naruto and other characters is completely overlooked, but when someone like me does it back to Sasuke, I do get punished. If anything, it's Sasuke who has more support.

I agree that his self absorbed attitude is annoying, he is always mr my life is so tragic and nobody understands me. Yada yada yada. Both Naruto & Gaara had terrible childhoods since BIRTH, and both of them actually had the same thoughts as Sasuke, taking revenge, but they didn't.

Then their's Nagato, who had his WHOLE COUNTRY killed, and he didn't go all emo, he tried to bring peace to th world.

If you ask a Star Wars fan who his favorite characters, most of them will say Darth Vader and none of them will say Luke. Luke is the archetypal Hero so he is boring. Darth Vader is interesting and more complicated. Darth vader caused the death of hundreds and personally slaughtered children.
