Re: Deidara's Fighting style counters Minato's?

Although you do have some solid points, I personally feel that Minato would end up winning. He can easily avoid pretty much all of Deidara's attacks with sheer speed. That's not mentioning the fact that all minato has to do is put a few seals around, and as long as he hasn't screwed up and gotten himself killed at that point then he practically controlls the battlefield and forces deidara both off the ground and on the defensive considering Minato could also then throw his special kunai. All Minato needs is 1 hit on deidara and deidara loses, and just from my knowledge I don't think Deidara could respond as quick as Minato. And if Deidara pulls out his massive self explosion Minato could get away just as easily. I'm personally not a fan of either character but, in conclusion, I feel like Minato would only lose if he either accidentally stepped into a trap or got immobilized by something and wasn't able to teleport fast enough, which would mean that deidara would have to get him before Minato could respond, which is pretty unlikely.

due to the fact that we dont know minatos chakra nature, we cant give it a true verdict. But yes, deidara can possibly counter minato, based off what we have seen of minato. But i think deidara is more of a counter for naruto.

Re: Deidara's Fighting style counters Minato's?

C4! C4!! C4!!!..how will minato know what deidara just did? Sasuke thought it was a dud and only realised the truth behind it via sharingan..minato doesn't have it..and even if minato used a barrier on sighting C4,deidara can just delay the microscopic explosion till minato deactivates the barrier and then "katsu"..if minato sees c2 dragon summoned and deidara jumping on it,he might try to stop him from gaining much height(that is his best bet on winning).if not,the battlefield will be controlled by deidara..minato can dodge all explosions apart from C4 imo...summoning toads will just make them into target practice by deidara.minato isn't that selfish..someone mentioned foodcart destroyer summon..it might work in getting deidara off his heights...do not underestimate deidara..even with one bag of clay and an order not to kill garra(a kazekage),who could also go airborne and fought in a desert,he still outsmarted him and beat him...in this matchup howerver, deidara has the advantage and upper hand..minato's brains is his only hope of surviving..one ill move and he is done for..for real.

    Would be like this: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...vs_Iwa-nin.png
Gamabunta uses fire techniques, so Minato would kill Deidara in 10secs, if not shorther.

Re: Deidara's Fighting style counters Minato's?

both kakashi and hebi sasuke managed to dodge 90% of deidara's attacks. and they're slower and they don't have the benefit of ftg.

hebi sasuke almost blitzed deidara twice in the beginning, meaning his weakness is speed.

a kunai can travel far enough if sasuke could hit a chidori spear by jumping on his katana

space-time barriers would help against the bigger slower bombs.

and minato would be an idiot if he sees c4 and doesnt get the hell out of there.

    in short, deidara has nothing

Re: Deidara's Fighting style counters Minato's?

Any time Minato would feel like Deidara had an advantage, he could FTG himself up to deidara or even back home to sip a friggin cup of tea then return to the battlefield. Remember Minato is very clever and almost deviously smart, he would really only need to FTG out of the explosions and into Deidara with a Rasengan, like with Tobi, he teleported above him when Tobi thought he won. I'm a Sasuke fan and yet I still can't see Minato loosing to an explosive loving, long range coward.

Sasuke managed to kill Deidara. It's the other way around tbh, speed is by far Deidara's weakness. And this is a world where everything is inhumanly possible and kunai are not effected by gravity. Minato would roflstomp Deidara in a split second.

Re: Deidara's Fighting style counters Minato's?

I have to disagree with you on this.
    1) Minato is a lightning and wind user, so his lightning can disable Deidara's attacks (like Sasuke did in their fight)
    2) Minato can also throw kunai in the sky and teleport there and use rasengan or something to hit Deidara.
    3) Apparently Minato is also a great sensory shinobi like Tobirama, where he can sense the enemy by just touching the ground, which could help him detect those booby-traps deidara put in the Sasuke fight.
These things plus his genius and fast movements put him above Deidara, though it might be a difficult battle.

People really underrate Akatsuki members (except Nagato and Itachi). It really is unbelievable how some fanboys actually doubt that a man that can blow up a village can also lose vs Minato (who has no such power).

yeah right. so in your opinion minato sees a massive bomb coming at him, and instead of teleporting far away, which he can, he stands gawking at it. don't be ridiculous. if sasuke figured out it's range by deidara's distance minato can as well. or if he doesn't want to risk it, he can teleport home and come back in 5 minutes.

sasuke and itachi don't have the power to blow up villages and as far as i know they both beat deidara. and the kyuubi can also blow up villages, and minato stopped it from doing so, twice. devastating power is good but it's not everything.

Deidara has something Minato doesn't range. Sure, Minato can throw a Hirashin kunai, but how far? Deidara specializes at long range battles, namely from high in the sky. And if even one of his attacks hits, it's going to be pretty devastating. Though, if Minato can use that Space Time Barrier he used to teleport the Kyuubi's attack to teleport one of Deidara's bigger explosions, he might get a bit of an edge. Deidara could theoretically win a ground battle as well, give that he stays a far enough distance away. He has homing bombs that move on their own, as well as microscopic bombs. He can manage a battle from half a mile away.

Its possible that Minato could try to catch him in the air through some ingenious Kunai throwing chain combo but i don't think it is a sure thing being that their's factors like gravity to consider..also at a given height it may take some time for minato to get there.

What about C4? We know C4 is microscopic and a cloud. Clouds tend to envelope. I don't think he'll be able to protect himself from all of it. He might not even see it. As I recall, Sasuke didn't until he used his Sharingan. The only hope Minato has of avoiding C4 is if the Jikukan Barrier technique is able to protect him from it by chance. And even then, it's unlikely it'll protect him from all of them.

I see a very possible counter here for Minato's Fighting style and FTG.
Minato would only have to get close enough to Deidara once, and could plant the formula (the inscription on the Hirashin Kunai) and then it doesn't matter how far Deidara is, Minato will still get him.

the fact is sasuke only figured it out because he can see it with the sharnigan. Minato can't. Get out of here fanboy c4>minato

Face it deidara is a bad match up for him.

Minato absolutely destroys Deidara. Deidara won't be able to touch him. I've seen WAY too many people overate Deidara on this site, he's a guy with explosives. whoop-dee-frickin' doo, how's that going to stop FTG?
