No Real Afterlife in Naruto?

Is there no real afterlife in Naruto? I ask this, because when people are edoed, they have no recollection of being dead. Like, you don't hear them say, "I was chilling in heaven, then I was suddenly recalled to this hell hole they call the living world" .

Seriously... they don't really make much connections to be dead, and the dead people have no knowledge of what is going on in the current world after being dead for so long. In most religions, they say that your loved ones watch after you when they die. That would imply that they know what is going on in your life and the current. Many of the edo souls had no knowledge about the curreny affairs of their loved ones and such.

We have only seen Kakashi at the foot of the afterlife talking to his father... but that is about it.

Any thoughts?

The characters in Naruto were resident in Earth prison(hell).It was not like Burning Hell in Christianity but this hell is much more comfortable and of course there is also a place for punishment.

It confuses me too, for example Nagato and Itachi had to be updated on everything by Naruto and when Nagato is sealed he says he's going back to "see how (Naruto's) story ends."

They probably don't remember heaven/hell when they're edo'd, since some religions believe it's impossible for the living mind to remember something as beautiful /ugly as heaven/hell

Exactly! Its contradictory. At least make the sealing like the afterlife. I was epecting the hokage to all be buddies by then
