Sorry but that's been a known fact for a long time. Tobi stated himself that Hashirama was the strongest ninja of his time and the only person that could match him was Uchiha Madara.

Hashirams has sympathy for the Uchihas as opposed to Tobirama who doesn't. Guess that's why hashiramas was leader and not Tobirama. Tobirama seems more of the tyrant type.
