this hype is NOTHING new.
first thing the fodder say after these two appeared were "both are hailed as the best shinobi in history". they talked like tobirama was every bit as badass as his brother and hiruzen was equally hesitant to take them on whether they were alone or together. danzo said tobirama was the strongest shinobi after hashirama's death. and kabuto proclaims tobirama's creation as the strongest jutsu in the universe.
nothing was retconned.
